Sadly I've let my slot (first one at my dealer!) go. After several drives and much soul searching, it's just not the car for me. Wanted something a bit more 'GT3ish' tbo. Also, at £150k, I can get a lightly used Scud - or a Gen2GT3 AND a GTR. Just too expensive and not quite the right 'feel' for me. Great shame.

PS. A truly fantastic car though. The pick of the Aston range and SO much more than a tweaked V8V. In fact I'd say the engine itself accounts for only 50% of the difference between the two cars.

Same conclusion - started buying bits now for my Porsche project. Nowt wrong with my V8V to justify throwing an extra £100K at AM. so supplmenting rather than replacing!

Mmmm. I'm going to have a nosey on Wednesday.

I desperately want to "want" one but am not convinced the difference will justify the (probably huge) price to change from my 4.7.

We'll see.

Well - I have gone the other way. Went to Gaydon and specced it 4 weeks ago for late September delivery. Sold the DB9 in April and have been driving my 997tt cabriolet for the summer which has been fabulous but I'm looking forward to getting into an Aston again.

With a limited run of only 1000 cars, I wonder whether that will happen?

Certainly they'll be below £100k within 18months/2 years IMO. Beyond that, who knows? I'll even guess that they won't sell all 1,000 UK cars.................

who knows....if someone could guarantee me they will appreciate or at least not halve in value in 3 years Id probably have a new one, I just have better things to do with £70k right now other than throw it away on new car depreciation frown

Shame Pugs, although I haven't driven it I do want one, but I'm with you.... no way at £140-150k, put the expensive ceramics on the options list (like Porsche do)& re-price the beast please.

You know what happened to the N400 & all past "top end " Astons, so I would say its pretty guaranteed that the V12 drop like a stone unless the bad economy means very few are sold & demand outstrips supply long term! Having said this I wish it every success, superb car.

V12 looks great, but having seen the 458 I strongly suspect my next car purchase may be Italian once more.

The 458 does look rather nice I must confess, but more than I am prepared to spend on a depreciating asset, although that won't stop me me drooling over yours though Murph & Pugs biggrinwink

Hi G,

After years of buying and running for six months and flipping for list/near list I'm now a confirmed 'used' car buyer I think. Until the market changes OR something utterly 'I want the first one' comes along. At the moment the 458 and Macca qualify. Oh, and off to pic up GTR next w/e. Sorry - probably not the done thing to mention that on this forum!

I agree both that the GTR is a great car & that Angel has good taste.... in cars anyway wink

The one thing that stops me getting a GTR is having owned a 911 Turbo the grunt is addictive & the speed reached in a few seconds comes with a free pair of handcuffs.... & I know I would be addicted enough to want to feel that G-force on regular basis.... officer biggrin
Pics please wink
