I'm interested in acquiring a V12 engine and transmission. I understand there have been a few issues reported on the six speed manual and wondered how to get round this.

The engine will be uprated for track use and I need a gearbox that will take the abuse.

Any comments would be much appreciated.

There's one on racepartsdirect.com

PS, that's the cheating way out if you're putting it in the Speed 12. Go and get a block and head cast and a crank forged.... laugh

Why would you choose a big VERY VERY heavy V12 engine as a base for a race car ?????
Yes I know Aston do, but they have a brand to sell that features a V12!

Finding a suitable V12 to consider is quite difficult as most of them are not suitable due to size or weight.

The Aston ticks most boxes.

The Aston V12 isn't actually that heavy either.

Does anyone have the overall dimensions of the DB9 V12 engine?

To the nearest cm would be fine.

Thanks in advance.

Both would be really useful if possible.

Thanks

i have a DB7 engine fully stripped and both DB9 and vanquish in the workshop at the moment all have different setups in relation to manifold and exhausts, i don't think you are that far from me (may be wrong) but if you wanted to have a more in depth look you are more than welcome. you mentioned the DB9 is this the engine you are thinking of getting as the DB7 is easier to source, so dimensions are slightly different including sumps, i can get dimensions for all as required
