Went out to my car last night to get something out the passenger side door. The door opened... But then it would not close . Played with the lock and everything window was going up and down. Just was not latching or closing / locking.

Anyways called out Aston martin Assistance . Some random recovery firm.. Told me door lock had failed.

They took the car away to my main dealer, Main dealer told me my door lock was frozen (As in iced in) and they had to defrost it and that was all... Could this be true..

frozen door handles etc at this time of year is quite normal, ***DO NOT USE HOT WATER*** if you did get some of the hot water on such as the door glass the sudden rapid expansion could cause it to fracture, warm water should be fine,

I've been having to pour tepid water (just needs to be warmer than the ice you want to melt) onto my door handles and around the window of my V8V Roadster quite a bit this year. Whole thing keeps icing over. Now the petrol cap has iced over too so can't fill the darn thing up. Oh well.

Just out of interest, who was the recovery firm? Email me if you wouldn't mind, I'm curious to know and can guess.
