Initially pegged as only being available to current/new owners what do you guys think? Would you have one as your second car, city commuter or 'winter car'?

Absolute tragedy. And it WILL be sold to non-Aston owners, apparently right from the beginning. AM owners merely get "priority." Seems to me that if they could sell enough to AM owners, they would restrict it to AM owners to maintain the pretense that it is somehow exclusive and desirable.

It seems that Bez claimed to Autocar that the vast majority of AM customers like it, and that only a few object (and that those are old owners, with old Astons). Based on the rather lengthy discussion on the AMOC forum, and the poll taken there (showing that the overwhelming majority of owners oppose it), he is blatantly lying. Well, I'm not that old (42), I have an '09 Aston, and IMO the Cygnet is an atrocity. As far as I'm concerned, Bez no longer has any credibility.

I am "old owner" myself - 60 this year and I wouldn't be seen dead in one. Hang about, I've thought of a new use for it - a coffin!!!!!
Even Lady Sinclair doesn't like it and is sticking with her TT.

My wife wants one to replace her Brabus Smart. I think it's a good idea, pleased to see sales are planned for non Aston owners also, but hope the price point is realistic.

By the way, love the Cygnet idea. Great possibilities for Aston Martin.

You should have a word with your wife (or swap her hehe) my wife chose a Porsche Boxster 987, 0-60 in 5.5 and corners as if on rails. Clearly my passion for all things motoring has rubbed off somewhere on the way smile

My wife wants to sell her Range Rover and get a Fiat 500 (and wouldn't be seen dead in Cygnet) Where has Dr Bez made his market research. Not among Aston owners that is for sure.

Currently we own an SL55 AMG, a Brabus Smart Xclusive and an old-style Fiat 500 Abarth.

I am looking to change my SL55 for a Vantage V8 (will be down on performance at only 420 bhp (494 for SL55), but will make up for it in handling).
We love the Brabus Smart (tuned to +90 bhp, and quite fast for everyday use, buts we feel that the Cygnet would be a perfect substitute).
Not parting with the 1970 Fiat 500 Abarth.

As an expat, I have always been an Aston Martin fan, and would love to see the aforementioned Astons added to our stable.

I still think there is a market for a smaller Aston, and the Cygnet will certainly not devalue the marque.

My wife also has a Boxster S and dislikes it; She thought the cygnet was a great idea, just what she wants: A small, reasonably exclusive, luxury car. I have no particular objection, 3 Astons sounds good to me. In fact I think I dislike the Rapide more.

Each to their own I guess, my wife would have thought I'd lost my marbles even suggesting one but then she likes driving and I know some women just consider cars for getting from A-B. wobble

In the end, it does serve a purpose. How else could you who had good taste if there weren't people with bad taste.

If you could only have one car the Range Rover would be my choice. The tdv8 is quick, roomy and excellent value so I don't blame her. Fiat 500s are fashion accessories - but take 4 people with luggage to the airport and you're stuck. I hope the bug will pass soon and we can keep our RR.
