Best colour for the vantage?
Discussion
I planned to order a new MY10, and was down to Quantum, Meteorite, and Onyx. I tried to rule out Onyx because it's hard to maintain, but every time I saw it (clean), it looked SO good that I couldn't rule it out. Nevertheless, I was almost certainly going to go with Quantum (with Bitter Chocolate), though I'd never seen it. However, I ultimately bought a new MY09 that the dealer had -- in Onyx. It's stunning. I have yet to see a V8V in a color that looks better. It is VERY difficult to keep it looking clean, but since it's not my daily driver, I don't mind keeping it clean -- it's worth the effort.
After all of that, here's my advice: if you're going to use the car as a daily driver, don't get Onyx. If it's not going to be a daily driver, however, don't rule it out if you love how it looks. I'd still love to see Quantum (unless it makes me wish I'd gotten it ). One more thought -- Quantum seems to be quite dark, so I wonder how much easier it would be to keep clean.

Go bahama yellow as I did! Silver and black ... too boring for such a beautiful car ... IMHO, only ... sorry!
I allways adored the three DB6 in that colour (more so than the DBS, of witch they built two IIRC). First time I see it on a V8V. LOVE IT!!!!!! Somehow orange Astons (just look at the N400 in Karussel Orange) are soooo classy. Edited by danny wilde on Tuesday 9th March 22:45
Tell me, how did they react at your Aston dealer, when you wanted that colour??
BTW
If you prefer a darker, more subtle colour, or simply don't have the balls to order yours in orange, I'd go for Quantum Silver.
I have had a black (onyx), silver (meteorite) and blue (midnight) DB9s.
Onyx - Stunning but nightmare to keep clean and swirl-free (but not any worse than midnight.
Midnight - see above plus a bit "flat". Rarely looks metallic.
Meteorite - This is very similar to Quantum. I think it was the best of the three looked as good but was easier.

No defined reaction ... they didn't know anything about this colour's history ("The Persuaders!" series)Just found this old classicdriver paper about the colour: http://www.classicdriver.de/de/magazine/3200.asp?i...
it's in german, but as I can see, this don't bother you.
