For me, the only colour for an Aston is metallic Bordeaux with a beige/tan interior - first fell in love with this combination after seeing it on a DB5 when the only thing I could pilot on the roads was a push-bike

I would go for morning frost with black leather and white stitching.

Onyx black is an awesome colour and with the right gear, easy to keep clean.

The oranges look cool too.

I see/detail mainly grey/silver/black cars and i know they look good, but i often think its a shame, as i know some people have only gone for the colour they have, because of the resale value.

this is black, washed and dryed, but not polished/waxed as it was coated with polymer in 2007 by Gtechniq as im lazy ....I like driving, not cleaning, but also like black cars, so like to minimise the time spent looking after them - a quick wash and dry once a fortnight is my limit smile

im sure the detailers out there could find fault, smudges, the odd swirl, loads of stone chips etc, but it will do just fine for me....im happy with 85% of the finish for 20% of the time smile

cheers smile

its not bad considering the age/mileage/effort involved ...but I do wash it properly with 2 buckets/mitts, dry with filtered water and clean towels etc ...to be 100% perfect, it really needs 8 hours and a machine polish, but for my every day sportscar, people always comment how "shiny" it looks, and it will do me smile

Although im a detailer and i love to see and make cars shiny, im also a driver, and thats what these cars are meant for. If its good enough for you, thats all that matter, but in that pic, it looks sexy.

The only time you need to think about doing anything with it, is when the water stops sheeting off when you rinse.

I've always thought that mass produced cars only suit a certain 1 or 2 colours. Never figured out why. Then you look at Astons and they just look great in every colour (OK, maybe not pink). Mine is one of the "dull" greys, but I didn't buy it because I thought it would sell better, I genuinely love the colour. But, having seen the range on here, I'd be happy with any of them.

I think the interior colour choice would have more bearing on resale. There are some wacky combinations out there.

Really not a fan of white cars, our British light is not good for it - especially in the winter. Look a lot better in the Midlle East (spend time out there).

However have to say sarb1984 your car looks stunning! lick

Like the idea of it being a wrap as well, so can be changed as and when required. Would love to see it close up to see how good it is

Is Vesuvious orange an aston martin colour, albeit special order?

Explain this "British light" thing. Did they build a dome over England with a special filter or do you have an alternate sun? Obviously this does not include the recent volcanic ash filter.

No, it's originally a Range Rover Sport (Supercharged) colour!

Yep we have special filters here - called clouds - although not usually volcanic ones. smile Middle East nearer the equator, brighter more intense light - makes colours look different, especially compared to the light of a British winter

Given the maritime climate and the relevant latitude, there are significant differences in the amount of solar radiation reaching the ground between the UK and the Middle East. This affects not only the overall intensity, but also would presumably have a filtering effect on various wavelengths of the light.

That's why the best colour is Blackwink

See the below paper by Burgess, Cranfield University

"Within the UK, changes in latitude (50 to 60°N) can affect the daily extraterrestrial solar radiation receipt, particularly during the winter"

VARIATION IN LIGHT INTENSITY AT DIFFERENT LATITUDES AND SEASONS, EFFECTS OF CLOUD COVER, AND THE AMOUNTS OF DIRECT AND DIFFUSED LIGHT

Just took the Matt Black wrap off so its back to orange for the summer. Just need a good detail now to get that gloss shine.

Loving the Red. And the Orange. And the Blue. ...And the black/all the others for that matter. *glargh*

But I'm still utterly sold on morning frost white. yes (Today's official rename of that colour is "premiership ponce white" according to the Cheshire cognescenti!)
