May I ask who has had the sports suspension upgrade and what are the real world differences please

Or anyone who has gone the prodrive route?

Thanks, I have read that article

I am more interested in thos that may have had the sports pack retrofited to explain if they think it makes the 2.5k suspension cost worthwhile.

I like modding cars ..and have spent tens of thousands in the past doing so ...but always ask yourself "what do I want to improve?" before doing so

so whats so bad about the standard V8V suspension that needs improvement? ...is it too soft on the roads you drive? bottoming out under braking from 150mph on the track? ...that kind of thing

it is just a different set-up on the car, whether its an "improvement" to you personally will depend wholly on what roads you drive and how you drive them smile

I think it may be worth having your geometry evaluated before you change anything.

Every single Aston that we have had in recently has had very badly calibrated geometry (even one fitted with the sports pack). Optimising this can dramatically improve the dynamic handling of the car, at a very low cost.

I would do that first, then consider a sports pack if further improvements are required.

All the best,

Mark

nothing more true than that ....when they are on the production line they will have a limited amount of time to get the geo "near enough"

...of course, it would be nice if the supplying dealer did a full geo set-up on each car in the PDC, but I doubt they do ....and 12-24 months later it can be knocked out anyway

...In my experience on other cars, its always worth checking every year or so if you actually drive a lot

That's very true. We have also seen instances where the factory recommended settings are wrong (or perhaps I should say "far from ideal"). We did a case study recently on a Vanquish, and developed some revised geopmetry settings which totally transform the handling and reduce tyre wear.

Where would advise getting this done? In the past I have used the geometry setup at Micheldever Tyres...it seems a good setup to get factory settings...but as they are just a tyre shop I am a bit concerned to get the beloved Aston done there.

a good specialist with a laser geo rig, who can show you before/after print outs ...something a bit more involved than a tracking check at kwik fit wink

I used to use Sinclaire motorsport near romford in Essex...have been living up North now for a couple of years and not had it done yet up here
