Thanks Graeme, it certainly is exciting ! I can't wait to get back in the driving seat without it half-collapsing and spewing out crumbling foam ! The paint has been pretty terrible on the front for years, and the ali corrosion on the door and wing bottoms always made me wince. An exciting stage

My MO is to make it sound and run properly first, then worry about the appearance. That time has come
Sorry but I don't have the time/energy to start that kind of thread Pretty much every winter since I got it in 1994 has seen some improvement activity.
The early years were mainly serious chassis repairs and mechanical maintenance. I have many photos but scanning them would be a bit of a chore.
Luckily I have a friendly MoT place, so it has been a rolling restoration. It's covered 245k miles, 155k by me, including European holidays when the kids were young (2 x child seats in the back) and many track days.
It's got to the limit of my abilities, so the remaining work (ali welding, repaint, interior) needs to be done by professionals. I will continue to do the mechanical stuff, though.
Aiming to be back on the road by the end of April, ready to shakedown in time for it's 25th trip to Le Mans. Hoping to make it to Chartre Sur Loire on the Friday.

Which AMR does your partner have, Emma?
I recently acquired a 2011 Rapide and have proceeded to road trip across the Western United States.
I've enjoyed soaking up the knowledge on PistonHeads so figured it was time to share a little of my own experience in the form of some photos from Death Valley!
Thanks to all the contributors here...it's made my new ownership substantially less intimidating....I'm a classic car owner and enthusiast and my biggest concern has been not being able to work on my Aston Martin (this being my first car from this decade)....but that's not proven to be the case thanks to you fellas.
Here's one of my favorite shots featuring my kids (who are loving the Rapide family trips)...more to come in subsequent posts.
