Is it me, or does this look like a toy car to anybody else? Anyway, nice car smile
Agree, the chap has used Photoshop or something to blur everything but the car which means the paving stones surrounding the car, which should be in focus are not. This in turn makes it look like a model placed on a real sized driveway wobble
Yep, you sussed me! - I used 'The Gimp' to blur the background in order to make the car stand out more. I think it worked well, but does make the photo look slightly artificial. Still, its a great car and thats what counts!

Wow, just discovered this thread last week... haven't been able to go through all the pages yet, but there are some real stunners there. Badly badly want a DB9, but for the moment am "making do" with a DB7 smile Here's a pic of mine...

A couple of recent ones of my DB9 manual. Sports pack wheels and stainless steel mesh grilles custom made from Chiltern. Also sprayed the side mesh and bonnet vents in light silver to stand out more. The effect is very pleasing.

Clear rear lights make the car look a lot better IMHO but doesn't work on every colour. Chiltern Green is quite greyish so they suit it.

Car is having it's wood changed out to gunmetal alloy at DMS currently, also had DBS gearknob, ashtray lid and 'Tony Hall Light Industries (TM)' heater buttons. Pics when I pick it up!

Under the skin; H&R springs & full geo, race cats with Quicksilver SuperSports and full re-map. Should be a noticably sharper car!

Maybe the same Rapide that lives at the Dorchester. Same colour and spec at least.

I've only ever seen 2 other Rapides in 12 months since having ours.

It will be, the car park was close to the Dorchester. I believe the owner owns the Ferrari too.

Woah there speech! There's no 'making do' with a DB7 at all, its literally THE most beautiful car ever made, very classy and understated. And being that you have the i6 (elongated front indicators better looking than the round Vantage ones in my opinion), ownership and servicing should'nt hurt the bank balance as much like later Astons can, and infact you can do most of it yourself.
Great choice I'd say. You have a very very beautiful car. Forget about the DB9 and spend all that left over cash on polish, petrol and tyres.

Indeed without it there would be no DB9.

Crap picture, but you get the idea. I'm in Southern California so no-one really knows it's rude, but there are enough that do to have a regular stream of Cheshire cat (not footballer) grins and thumbs up at stop lights.

One of the positvies of living over here - if you're in California and the 7-letter combination you want isn't taken, it costs....wait for it....$44 per year. Love it.

A very good friend has this plate on his DB9 in Atlanta Georgia. On his other cars he has XTREME, XSTACY and XOTIC. Costs were minimal - unlike in the UK where costs are crazy for anything vaguely interesting.

That looks great, nicely tweaked!
Looks like the sports pack wheels have a grey finish other than the diamond cut area?
Have you made some stainless mesh lower grills as well?

Thanks! Just had the wheels refurbed, they were from a Le Mans edition DB9 that met an untimely end so they were painted mid-grey with a diamond cut face. I liked the effect so I kept it, not sure if all Sports Pack wheels are the same?

Yes the 3 lower grilles are 2mm stainless steel as per the DB7 grilles that Chiltern make. Brightens up the front end hugely and is far better quality than the AM chicken wire. Also had the main slatted grille removed and striped as it was coated in a dull grey paint/plastic. Looks far better polished up. The car just feels a little more personalised now, I always need to make them individual!

I went from a DB7 Vantage Volante to a DB9 Volante and not sure if I regret doing so yet. I let go, for a song, an amazing DB7 with every upgrade, a very personal car to me, for a DB9 which just feels very... modern. Be careful what you wish for.
