Hi

I've got a 2008 AMV8 Vantage thats almost due a 2 year service. I'm very tempted to go to DMS for this service, mainly due the comments by others on this website, and Rick's own posts.

It looks to be about a 3 hour (180 mile) drive there, so could be done in a day if I left home very early and the service could be done in a day.

My question is - has anyone else done from the South East and is it do-able in a day?

Thanks

Easily done in a day..... Unless of course the service brings up something that may need parts that Rick has to get in.
I took mine up from Sidcup to have the rear lights changed so Rick ordered them in advance. I got there for around 11am, the job took a couple of hours and away I went.
He was kind enough to open up on a Saturday, which I understand he does ocassionally, but I dont know re servicing. Made the journey more bearable.
Best email or call him and have a chat.

Cheers

Eastbourne-ish, and yes I've done it.

Wouldn't use anyone else now TBH.

Not sure about getting there, serviced, and back in a day as I wasn't actually in any rush anyway. Rick and Kay booked me into a nice hotel and I used the time to poke around Derby.

Even with petrol both ways, an hotel, food and quite a lot of beer it still saved me better than £350 over the quoted main dealer price for the 3 year service.

There was quite some saving on having the rear brake pads replaced there at the same time too.

I don't do an awful lot of motorway stuff, but I found the drive up (once past the M25 road widening) really not too bad at all, and got waved at/photographed (luckily not by speed cameras ) quite a lot, which stroked the old ego nicely !!

Hi Rob,

Just had my first 10k service with DMS yesterday, I live in the North West and it's about a 4 hour
round trip for me depending on the traffic.

Having met Rick for the first time at his charity event last year, I realised his passion
and knowledge of Aston Martins are second to none and this is why I entrusted him and the
guys (Fraser & David) with my car.I have to say I was not disappointed, this was without
a shadow of doubt the best service I have ever had with any make of car I have owned. The
attention to detail and the sheer depth of Rick's knowledge is fantastic, coupled with all
of this, Rick very kindly sorted out all the ongoing outstanding niggles and rattles etc I
had been living with over the last year.

Also to be mentioned in despatches is the lovely Kay (The Boss), she very kindly supplied
me with copious amounts of mugs of tea and she even went out and bought me a bacon & sausage
bap and then wouldn't take any money for it, many thanks Kay you're a star.

Finally, on this subject I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all, but most
of all the "Birthday Boy" Rick (21 again)..... Happy Birthday Rick smile

Just as a footnote Rick very kindly allowed James from Paralight to come along and fit a
front parking camera via my sat nav screen, the clarity is fantastic, very pleased no more
kerbing

Cheers,

Peter

Yep, I've done it, took a day off work and saved around £700. I left at 6am was home by 5pm. Lots to see around there too and Rick will lend you his car.
