My second Vantage (4.7) will get handed over at the end of the week, after an excellent year's ownership, in order to take delivery of a lightning silver DBS.

Ever since I first drove the DBS back in late 2008, I fell in love with it. I have since driven every Aston extensively, including the V12V, and have firmly concluded without a doubt that the DBS is the best car Aston make for the road.

Looking forward to it! smile

Planning to do exactly the same, looking forward to following in your footsteps, probably in 12 months though. Want a manual quantum silver....

Excellent choice and in the fastest colour!

I love mine and agree that it's the pick of the bunch for everyday use.

Can you give a summary of the main differences between V12V and DBS which makes the DBS the better road car for you?

My DBS has just completed 27,000 miles including 16,000 on the track. It drives like a dream still. Only minor problems such as drivers door window not locating itself correctly inside the doorseal, and other minor electrical issues.
Other than that its been absolutely superb. The most reliable supercar in the fleet

Certainly... I already put down some thoughts on my blog at http://www.justinstanford.com/2010/04/v12-vantage-...

It primarily boils down to two things, the ride and the handling (courtesy the longer wheelbase). The DBS is just so well judged for the road.

You might also be interested in what Chris Harris had to say in this little video... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9clwjR5zxQ

Is that your car he's driving, Simon?

Yes he borrowed it and it came back with no tread lol. When I watched the video I realised why. Its fine to be honest I'm glad he rated it so highly. Better than that new 599 and Bentley Supersport apparently. To say its done all those miles too compared to virtual delivery mileage of the other two says a lot in my book
