This is an odd one but im wondering if anyone else has had this or if i am odd. I get back ache from my AMV8 07 plate after about an hour in my lower back right side. Feels like where my kidney is. Anyone else had back ache from these seats?

Yes - always got backache around lower back from the sports seats in V8 and DBS. The answer to this is not cheap, but worth it - spec the carbon lightweight seats - no backache! Brilliant

I find that putting the seat back up as straight as can be comfortable and getting close to the steering wheel helps. I had the back of the seat down and would then slouch and this caused back ache. Try a seat position that you would if you were driving on a track maybe?

Maybe a daft question, but have you tried deflating/inflating BOTH lumbar cushions, and tried different seat positions?

I'm quite large, and it took me a while to get the seats "just so". But having done that, I find them very comfortable.

I find them fine too ...I think some experimentation/adjustment would help ...and maybe getting a professional to set the seat up with you in it ...youd be surprised at how upright the orthapaedic correct position is

I also find them comfortable -- recently did about 2.5 hours each way on a trip and was very happy with the seats. As Murph said, the lumbar adjustments can make a significant difference, and making some small adjustments to the lumbar settings after being in the car for a while can really enhance comfort.

Can relate to the issue, but have eventually found a setting which works for me. Trouble is, whenever it goes in for service it comes back totally different and I have to play with all the controls again. Should have gone for that memory option after all, but it seemed like a waste as only I drive the thing.

Don't know if anyone agress but I think the MY05/06 seats were more naturally comfortable. Loved them on my test drive and was then gutted when my MY07 turned up with the redesigned ones.

I prefer the seats in my '08 N400 vs my previous MY06 car because the seat cushion is wider ... but then I've got a bit of a fat arse at the moment!

Was advised at the time that the seats had been modelled on our US counterparts, with a liking for pancakes and maple syrup.

Personally, having shed a few pounds since the winter binge season I'm now faced with the prospect of taking some cushions out with me to avoid sliding about when going round corners wink

yes

Mine has it. Very glad it does. People tend not to fiddle with the lumbar supports, but getting the general position "just so" can be a pain. Memory seats are a godsend.

WHAT!

You mean you let other people sit in the Captains seat of your AM?

Not on. Come and be a passenger by my side by all means but nobody, repeat nobody does the Captains Seat!

Memeory settings. Great for the passengers but useless for the driver!

It gets worse - it's the missus that uses the other seat every now and then. A bird! Female! Wench! biggrin

What better way to get home though after a night on the razz. I drive there. getting that benefit. Then get driven home in an Aston.

Prefer to stay sober myself. Drive there, drive back, get the benefit of the Aston, let the missus get drunk and enjoy those benefits later. hehe

Think about it!

Hi Guys

Mine is a MY07 with the later seats and also memory. I have to admit to having a very reclined position. I have started raising this now to a point where it feels very very upright. I have tried the lumbars but they dont seem to make much difference. I have the seat in the lowest rear position with a slight raise on the front position.

My car is an '09, so I have the same seats. FWIW, I have the rear of the cushion low, but not all the way down, and I have the front of the cushion higher (relatively) for better thigh support. I have the backrest fairly upright, but not what I consider very upright. I find that the two lumbar adjustments cover a wide range (both in/out and up/down) and make a significant difference.

I have had a few minor issues with the sportseats (both on the MY2010 and MY2006 versions) whereby I have recieved cramp in my upper thighs. This is in context of a say typically 4 hours into a 6 hour run from the NW to the end of Cornwall.

I found relief from changing my typical driving position from "5 minutes to 2 O'clock", to "2 minutes to 3 O'clock". i.e. lowering the end of the seat down. It may be poissible that this could work for the OP as your not putting all the weight of the upper body and upper legs on to your lower lumbar region.

I have not tried the new Lightweight seats on such a long journey yet.

Adjust until comfortable I guess. Failing that, take a break more often and stretch the legs/back.
