The mystery customer has ordered 10 Aston Martin One-77 supercars, which are of limited edition and will cost £1.2m apiece when sales start later this year. The huge order accounts for 13% of the total production run of 77 cars, and a bill for £12m. The buyer, who is believed to be of Middle Eastern origin, has specified a different colour scheme and cabin trim for each car.

I'm feeling a lovely little investment....?

If its true its poor form by Aston Martin to sell so many to one person..... I thought this was more of a 'technical excercise' like the F1 and veyron....

Aston told me the same story. The Middle Eastern specified delivery for September and when told that was not possible paid his £12m there and then and the delivery date was agreed

I hope they are going to sell them on like some sort of Middle East Agent and not hog them out of sight.
It will be intresting to see what it will do to the price of the others,
I hope the ferry dosnt sink on route with them all on, eggs in one basket sort of thing.

How many are planned to have the drive controwls on the right side? Sureley they cant pretend be a British car (not that they are) in left hand drive

Collector do you reckon or user?

At the Geneva show I was told by a Porsche salesman of a Saudi Arabian gentleman who had written a letter of intent for seven 918s.

I tend to agree.

I wonder if they had orders for all cars without such a bulk buy. It might be a safe assumption that they didn't.

Hopefully all of the oil runs out in my lifetime and/or alternative energies take off. There will be so many great cars available when that takes place smile

as per Aston,it is one guy who likes other family members to have one as well.
You can still order one as they are not all sold.

Whilst still clearly minted, I believe that the Sultan has had to rein it in a bit in recent years.

Part of this was caused by his brother basically squandering around £1bn on cars, women and tat (Yes, he wasted the rest hehe)

Part of this is the end being in sight for Brunei's oil reserves and them needing to squirrel away some cash for the future.

A lot of his car collection has been sold off IINM and the days of mechanics being employed for 6 months of the year to maintain the collection are gone.

So I can't see this being him. Still plenty of rich Middle Easterns left though....
