Driving the TVR it is accepted that you acknowledge the presence of other TVR drivers. Froma small nod of the head to a wave out the window nearly all drivers do something.

What is the accepted practise in Aston Martins? I dont hitnk a single other AM driver has waved, smiled or even acknowledged me when we pass.

You clearly haven't driven anywhere near me then - I usually grin like a loon at other AM drivers biggrin

I'd agree with you on that, Simond001. Used to get more waves etc. in the 350z than I've done in either Astons I've had, even worse when one passes you and refuses to look across, they seem to give the impression that they resent you being there, like you're upstaging them or something. A shame if true, hope I'm wrong...

If you're going through either herts or north london give me a wave

I am the happy owner of a TVR, and have always thought the TVR folk a happy bunch.
I am taking delivery of my first Aston (V12 V) on Friday, and I will resolutely wave at ALL TVR and Aston owners..whatever car I'm driving, whilst wearing a large grin on my face!!!

I saw two Am's today about 5pm on the A22 going southbound. they had one car between them so possibly travelling together.

A quick flash of the lights and a hand lifted from the wheel.

Both drivers resolutely stared ahead as if I wasnt there. Just think it is so wierd as surely we have all chosen to go AM against all the best German efforts!

So, AM drivers of the Uk, Chill, Enjoy, and say Hi. It wont devalue your day

Saw two AMs on the A10 yesterday - a Rapide near Hertford and a V8V on a test drive out of Lancaster Cambridge. Flashed them both but neither saw me in my DB9.

I think its car enthusiast thing - ive always done it with Lotus and TVR owners ...the odd Aston has responded most dont though

...like most luxury cars, not everyone who buys them are car club enthusiasts...

I had a thumbs up on Friday on the A32 in Hampshire from a fellow V8V driver coming my way. I always say 'hi', not bothered if other owners respond or not, maybe they don't see me. Aston owners are all a friendly bunch, I've never come across a bad one.

Is there a recognised code signal for 'You are driving towards a police speed trap'?

not really a second glance from other owners round these parts but a forecourt situation usually turns into a ten minute conversation!

Seems to be the same in the Cotswolds, never had a single aston driver respond. Very disapointing.

Same in Chichester. Waved at 2 x DB9'S and 3 V8'S, nothing!
Met a guy at the fuel station yesterday in a Rapide from Guernsey and he was very friendly

If I can I always flash lights, wave and toot the air-horns at any Aston (whilst overtaking smile ). It's usually a V8/DB9 these days. The response rate is about 50%. Occasionally I fail to respond to acknowledgement from another Aston due to whatever. I assume that is the same reason I don't get 100% replies.
