Would I be right to expect a wave back from an Aston in a blue Honda Civic driven by my mum?

Didn't think so either. paperbag But I'll keep trying!

I always wave to anyone who is enthusiastic enough to bother waving to me. I was driving through a rough council estate the other day with the hood down. Two 16 year olds pushing bicycles shouted "st CAR MATE" I shouted back, " yes youre right, really wished i had a bike like yours". They could'nt help but have a giggle. It was only their srange sort of way of waking a comment about the car i suppose.

I'm always glad to return a flash and a wave, but frankly, here in Singapore people are more likely to give you a weird look and ignore you. frown
Last greeting I got was from some bloke driving a 911, and he was clearly an expat.

Not very friendly these locals... and I should know, because I'm a local Singaporean too.

was driving through south london and passed a V8VR, at which point my better half got a little overexcited (she reads these forums avidly too) and waved both arms vigorously in a slightly less-than-cool manner that may have put off the other driver. I, on the hand, utilised the very cool one-hand-a-few-inches-off-the-steering-wheel wave. Unfortunately, neither approach seemed to work and the other driver just continued driving with nary even a glance! Never mind... 0 for 1 so far...

Absolutely. I consider it a duty to wave back at anybody who acknowledges the car. In fact it is part of the pleasure of owning an Aston.

I wave back at everybody that I see waving at my car.

If conditions allow, I will also change down a couple of gears and make a bit of noise.

Look forward to passing in Surrey sometime. That is absolutely my belief when we have these cars.

Just wanted to give a more formal nod to the Midnight blue looking DB9 passing through Silverstone today and thanks for responding to my little headlight flash.

Having had a complete lack of responses in London, me and the missus visited Bicester Village near Oxford and met 2 astons within the space of around 30 seconds - the first one gave a wave when I flashed, and the second actually stopped alongside as we passed in the car park to chat, until we realised we were holding up traffic! So... non-Londoners in being friendlier than Londoners shocker!

A slight cheat but I gave a flash and a wave to a nice DBS as it passed me on the M6 toll, didn't see a response as he flashed by "a bit quick" wink . I passed it on the M42 and suspect it was one of the guys returning from the "homecoming" @ Gaydon

Passed a lovely DB7 in green on M42/A42 on my way up to Rick's in Derby the other day. Flashed my lights and got a thumbs up in return. Very satisfying.

Very rarely see other AM's where I live in the North East but get frequent thumbs up from pedestrians, especially groups of lads. Always acknowledge them with a thumbs up back. Not long after I got it I was parked in a supermarket car park sitting in the car waiting for the missus when 2 guys approached and wanted to take pics of themselves standing in front of it! That confirmed I had bought something truly special wink
Having a motorbike too I am used to waving at fellow enthusiasts - if I ever see another AM here I'll give it a go and see what happens.........

Oh dear! What is the matter with the Devon V8 owners?
Passed 3 yesterday on journey from Dartmouth to Chichester and not one of them waived or flashed back at my DB9 Volante. Is that the V8 feels inferior the V12? (head down)

To be honest if I was flashed by an oncoming car the first thing I would do is look at my speedo. Just in case it's a warning of a camera further along the road.

Most of the time it'd be too late for me to flash or wave back, I guess others might do the same.

I wouldn't purposely ignore anyone.

Agreed.
I have a V12 Vantage and I also own a Land Rover 90 Tomb Raider.. 75% of Land Rover drivers nod or wave (offroaders) vs 10% Aston drivers.
I put it down to snobbery and ignorance.
