While there are some really decent Aston-folk on Pistonheads, I think the vast majority of new Aston owners are a right bunch of stuck-up prats. I've given a nod, a flash or a wave to half a dozen recently and only one has waved back (and that was a mate of mine!). "Ordinary" folk seem to be much friendlier and always wave the Aston out if I'm stuck at a junction whereby if I'm in the X5 I can spend ages waiting to be let out....!
i always wave but get very few responses back. i even pulled up next to another AM (a DB9) and looked over to give a wave but i got the "i'm going to stare straight ahead and ignore the chap in the V8V next to me" response.
i'm also a biker and always wave to other bikes so it's in my nature to wave to fellow drivers/riders. it's frustrating when you don't get a response but that doesn't mean i'm going to stop doing it!

Seems to be the same in the Cotswolds, never had a single aston driver respond. Very disapointing.
When you see me I promise to respond. It seems to me that people don't know how to respond - should I/Shouldn't I - rather than outright ignorance. Sometimes I suspect that in the brief moment of realisation that another Aston is in view that their reaction time is too slow. (maybe a wink of rear indicators could catch on ?.
What colour/model should I look out for ?
I always wave - if I see them in time. However, I don't get many waves back.
Somebody has mentioned "enthusiasts" above, and I reckon that the answer lies there. Enthusiasts are largely a friendly bunch, but the Aston brand probably attracts a fair share of people who are not petrolheads.
OTOH, everybody that I have at AMOC meets and events have been very friendly indeed.

Wantanewv12, it would be nice to get a successful response from at least one fellow Aston! Am driving a black V8V, plate is 97RS, look forward to seeing (and hearing) you on the local roads!
Judging by this thread, it would seem there are plently of friendly AM drivers, just seems like we mostly live in completely different parts of the country! As for the rest, pity the fool...

Might be a little quieter than usual. I am pretty sure that I got caught by a mobile speed camera yesterday on the outskirts of Oxford heading south yesterday - forgot to take my road angel for the first time in 5 years Judging by this thread, it would seem there are plently of friendly AM drivers, just seems like we mostly live in completely different parts of the country! I recently was queing on the M25 with a DB7 next to me piloted by a woman. As much as I looked over to give a nod or smile, her eyes remained steadfastly ahead. Not a sideways glance and we were alongside for quite a distance.
I have, however, had two Merc sports flash and give me the thumbs up. Which was nice.
