Paddy, no, am in Cheltenham. Now I know there is another black Vantage in the area, thats it, im selling up!

Not really, well unless someone puts a 2nd hand manual DBS on the market in Quantum, then i might!
My N400 Roadster was sold through Cheltenham so there is probably another around - still more to wave at.

Have come to the conclusion its 'not cool' to wave / flash other Aston's in Surrey - never get a response. Used to get more response from S2000 drivers.
Although people with Aston's quite happy to chat at petrol stations etc
wavey here's one from another ex S2000 owner wink

Pah!
There are roadworks in my area meaning that traffic diverted down my road is often queing at a standstill. As I approached my house from the other direction last night, lo and behold there was a dark blue (OH says black) Vantage stopped in the queue directly opposite my driveway. No way he could avoid seeing me so gave a cheery wave just as I turned in.
Total blank back. Made me feel really stupid. OH, who was in front garden at the time did say the guy gave a glance back when well past my drive.
Miserable sod, couldnt possibly be any of the fine gents on here.

I can feel a 'name & shame' coming on. We should threaten to publish number plates of all who don't demonstrate an enthusiastic response to owning one of the icons of motoring history. Most people are not fortunate enough to be able to own and drive such cars but most are happy to celebrate AM's existence with us even if they can't afford one - one of the joys of owning an AM is the lack of guilt necessary when driving on public roads, the courtesy shown by other road users and the regular, genuinely interested discussion that occurs wherever I go. If the general public are so positive why not other owners - its weird !

Problem with that idea is that the non-wavers wont be enthusiasts and therefore wont come on this forum and therefore will be none the wiser!

Best thing to do is have your own AM fitted with a paint gun which you can shoot at the non-waver as you go past! hehe

I like that. I'll take a pair of hinged number plates please, a small toggle to move the barrel and a paintball gun with a large hopper front and rear.

I reckon you could mount paintball guns in the front parking sensors...mine are too sensitive anyway!

Trouble is, too many cheery commoners own Astons now.
Old school don't have to acknowledge status.
You should be happy you're quite anonymous in an Aston,
at least you're not spat at, like you are in a Ferrari (it happens)

I don't have an Aston but my experience of the non-wavers is that they don't even notice you half the time (which is a bad reflection on their driving skills IMHO). I also find if I'm in the wrong car and wave/flash I get funny looks boxedin

If it was a roadster then that'll be a member of staff as Chris Neils taking it home for the night, lol.

I did notice they had one for sale and thought it might be that one.
Going towards them though, late test drive?
Can there really be two yellow ones in this area smile

Well it wasn't another Aston but I had an interesting experience yesterday in my Vantage. It was only my second outing in the car as I had it delivered on June 14th and disappeared on vacation for three weeks the following day. Yes, it's been difficult trying not to think about what's sitting in my garage back at the house but I got through it.

So, yesterday driving down the road a guy in a Lexus coming towards us flashes his lights like crazy and then flings an arm out the window with a big thumbs up on the end of it. Made me smile as I really hadn't expected this sort of attention.
I guess it just reinforces what I am learning every day, I have bought something very special with grin effect and goose bumps built in. clap
