Hi, I have a Jan 2009 v8v, I really would like N400 sills fitted. I have been quoted an obscene amount from the Aston Martin dealer to fit and paint. Can anyone tell me where I can have these supplied, painted, fitted to include the paint protection film to the rear arches. The car is Onyx Black.

What do you call an obscene amount?? Im considering these and have been quoted around £800 for them fitting to my Onyx black 2009 4.7 vantage. I didnt think that was too bad to be honest????

Hi, where where you quoted around £800.00, I would like them to do the N400 sills on my car, Aston Martin Dealer quoted me £2400.00 to supply, fit, paint, rubbers and paint protect film at lower rear arch. Please can I have the garage details from where you got your quote of £800.00?

whoa, thats crazy! You can get the carbon fibre front splitter and rear diffuser (which comes with a new front bumper I am told) for £2400 which seems far more for the money.

http://www.astonmartin.com/eng/worksservice/option...

Im thinking about trying to get a deal on the carbon fibre pack and N400 sills at the moment.

I will send you a PM with the dealers name, but shop around as you can get a good discount on parts and labour if you ask about.

Adam, could you drop me a line with where you got that quote from, too, please?

Was wondering if it was worth getting a mould of the carbon fibre bits made up and having a few sets of them done in fibreglass to get the cost right down on them. An extra 2kg of weight is easier saved through avoiding a couple of kebabs, I fear! wink

Rick at DMS will be doing my sills when I can get off my backside and get up there. He is a perfectionist getting the colour matched. Check with him re price.
Even if he is a bit higher than £800 I will still be using him.

I PM'd steadfast with the dealers so I guess hes called them now and the best price is £1247 after all. Still £1200 is a lot better than £2400.

Looking back now I think the £800 quote was at the time of buying the car so I guess dealer was going to do them at cost as a favour. I had another quote at £1200 so if you can get them for £1200 that sounds about right.

I must be in a minority, but I'm not a great fan of the chunky sills. They don't seem especially elegant.

I think you are. The dealer I was in the other day had 90% of their used V8's fitted with them. Side by side the normal sill'd cars now look too slim, a tad girly and lacking 'grrr' factor!

Not until they stick it in a roadster
The sills would like a lot better if the car sat 15mm lower, but I'm not about to mess with a very good suspension set up!

I agree with Adam! The car is pretty much perfect as is and I feel it takes away just so slightly from the bulging fenders. My biggest fear with AM is that they will just keep adding pieces to a perfect product to "update it".

I think my exhaust, power pack and CATs gave me enough grrr!
