Me too, Neil.

Pretty sure the toothless FSA is about to be disbanded as well smile

FSA - yes it is but just being moved under the Bank of England aspicies, and changing name. The only change that may happen immediately is not implementing mobile phone recording in dealing rooms. Pity, was going to make shed loads out of that ill thought out bit of regulation.
There may be other changes but that was the one I cared about wink

Just bumping this back to the top to see who's coming out as currently competitive for renewals:

Locktons
A Plan
Aviva

All on the short list from above thread - not called any of them yet.

Agreed Mako. Their Chubb policy is formidable.

Some more tips on http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Last time I looked there was a Lockton's discount for AMOC members. I was offered the same premium by Chris Knott without the AMOC membership but stayed with Locktons.

The lack of 3rd party cover (in most but not all cases) is more than compensated for by the Agreed Valuation rather than Market Valuation, as well as European breakdown cover as standard.

I always get a quote from Adrian Flux as well, in appreciation for their sponsorship of PH smile

I refuse to even get a quote from Adrian Flux anymore. The bds quoted me £19k on an Ariel Atom 160 (that was valued at a very similar price). That lost them my custom forever.

Don't get mad, get even Georgeous.

Never discount a potential insurer at quotation time as your profile is never again the same smile

I've just joined the AM fold, so have just called all the recommended suppliers, including a couple of others that have my Elise (currently for sale, if anyone fancies an awesome track toy wink ) and my Q5.

By far the best quote, both in terms of cover provided and the cost was from Locktons - very good to deal with as well.

Phil.

+1 Chris Knott did the same to me this years doubling my Locktons policy premium. Move to Admiral multi car to align the NCB's and renewal dates for more felxiblity at the renewal!!

Well I called Aviva this morning - £2600 and thats with a £1550 excess, 35 with 9 years no claims, no accidents, no endorsements. Renewal from Admiral multicar was £1300 (for the Aston element).

Another £2k plus quote from A-Plan

Admiral Multicar renewal offer at £1300ish is looking like a bargain.

Admiral Multicar wanted £4400 for my V12V compared with £1700 from Locktons!

How on earth is that quite so much money!? Even £1300 with Multicar just seems wrong.

It is parked on the street. It's ridiculous though. If I add my other half (31, only 2 years since passed her test it reduces the premium, seems perveerse that 2 years of female driving is less risky than male with 17 years claim free driving)

Does anyone else who parks their Aston on the street have a recommendation for an insurer that will give a sensible quote?

My renewal with admiral multicar was double the first year premium. I went back on their site as a new customer using mrs Steve as the policy holder and all four cars were then quoted as they had been on the first year (ie half the renewal quote presumably because it was interpreting her as a new customer). Needless to say I signed up online again with her as the policy holder.

This year I'll try the same again with me as polcy holder or if that doesn't work then my son.

My V8V Roadster is parked on street in central London, for 12k miles, I'm 23 and it's only £1200 on Admiral Multicar.

They did this to me, I just got another quote on confused.com and it was almost half of the renewal they offered me. I then rang them, and they matched the quote.

Wow

Got the Admiral multicar quote online - £890 - just for the Aston

Rang up to check through details see if they could improve it and reduced it to £300!!!

So thats £1300 renewal and they would knock £50 off when I called, renewals team.

New customer process £300 - didn't do it as a matched quote as above, just purely as a new customer, so will now need to send them their own proof of no claims letter.

Feels too cheap - on same multicar policy also got a Peugeot 206 worth £3.5k and thats £350 for the year. Aston cheaper than Peugeot - amazing, will be checking policy documents very carefully when I get them.
