I am REALLY looking forward to that, was great to see Bruce and catch up at Trinity. Some cocker-neee fella having the most powerful Aston out there... well it's just not right. Aston Martin make genteleman's expresses, not getaway vehicles.
You are welcome to the most powerful Gaydon Era V12 title. I will pass it onto you happily . I will be content with the miserable 565BHP and rely on my pedalling power to make up the rest. Now off to do a blag.I will be content to have The Best Gaydon Era V12 Title. The one where power, torque, correct body shape and colour (with matching louvres), delicate V12 burble at acceptable decibles and the complete absence of after-market go-faster DB9 pipe and slippers is all part of the complex equation.
Yeti, i hope you enjoy your Thug-mobile!
Regards!

Is the 520 BHP package really only suitable for race use? How far would you recommend going for street use?
In Canada, our AMs come off the road for winter hibernation. My preference would be to ship my OEM engine and have it returned with the works in a crate that included all the goodies. How do you undertake the sign off in this situation?

As with any of our engines, they can be used on track or road without problem. We have developed the whole package work / be seamless transition as if at idle and low speed driveability it was a standard engine. There are no error states, engine code lights or any issue from using an engine from us on road even if it was prepared as track car engine.
The sign off would be a visit by us to client location to spanner check installation works, cast our eye over car to check installation of our equipment was to our standard and perform the first starting / driving checks.

So, what do you think?
Really happy with it, sounds like a monster (a little conscious of it being too loud around town etc, though it of course has the quiet switch) and it really is a noticeable improvement in power. Like a lot of people in 4.3's I'm sure the plan is eventually to step up to a 4.7/S/V12V, and this step-up makes me very content until I can take a step (jump) up to a V12. As is standard a great customer experience with Adrian and Mike.
Hi Mike
Glad to see that the Vantage V8 engine development programme has continued at a pace, when are you likely to have the first 5.0L car finished and tested?
Do you have a firm idea on the cost above the headers, cats and air box which I already have?
How long would a conversion take to carry out?
This looks a very exciting alternative to upgrading to a Vantage V12.
Regards
Mark

Good to talk earlier. Glad you are still liking stage 1 exhaust manifolds and catalysts so much.
The first roadcar project will deliver during this winter, so into next year when complete, but this mod seems popular and there should be a few more complete hot on the heels of the first.
The first few will be done on a bespoke project basis where we charge out the very basic materials and a nominal time cost which we are sure to exceed. This represents a win win for both us and client and is why we approach the first project we do on a model in this way. We get to prodcution ready the package whilst the early adopters get the upgrade at reduced rate. This is how we have approached pommehogster, lewis and JohnG39 projects. We have yet to define the exact number of early adopters for this project and therefore what the costs would be. The next stage from this step (spring 2013) is a regular kit price and we need this whole process to arrive at that end outcome.
The conversion should be no different to drive in 4.3 drive out 4.7GT4 racing engine build - taking approx. 4-6 weeks.
Continue to enjoy your beast and look forward to speaking to you soon.

I'm tempted, but you don't sell in US correct?
Also, I'd make it Forced induction and might need "special parts"
There are a few crate engines and other products of ours in US for clients who wanted to undertake bespoke projects not 'off the peg'.Also, I'd make it Forced induction and might need "special parts"
Our engines are built with the most 'special parts' money can buy, so if not good enough for your FI application, nothing else on the planet would be.
You could always ship us the car, we would ship back perfection.....
Hi Mike, do you see ways to address the 2007 4.33L sportshift issues, being (i) lack of speed, and (ii) above all, the fact that it is not a real sequential gearbox.
Would be possible to fit the new sportst II system on an old 4.3L so that basically, once the foot is off the accelerator the car doesn't "moves" as per opposition to now, when if at a traffic light, you either have to put the car on N mode on keep your foot on the brakes for it not to advance
If so, would the cost be so massive than the move to a new car would be the best solution ? Would the immobilisation of the car for such mods be very long, time wise ?
Another of my question relates to the v12 alloys, which I'd really want to fit on my 4.3L. Apart from having to change to new tyres obviously, would these alloys be direct bold one, without any spacers / extra mods ? Could I keep the 4.3L existing braking system intact or will it need some mods (in the perspective of just fitting the v12 alloys)
Looking forward to reading you

Mike, I like the idea of how you set up the switch for the exhaust valves, always on or always off. Since I am in the USA it is not practical to bring my car to you. Currently I have a switch (to ground) in my car that powers a relay in the boot that provide power to fuse #22 when the switch is closed. However, when power is applied the valves still open in the specified RPM range. How to I modify the wiring to the vacuum pump to be on all the time when power is applied to fuse #22. I am assuming that the pump gets a signal (either power or ground) from the ECU when in the specified rpm range. Do I need to disconnect that input or shunt the terminal at the pump?
