Well not really but I'd like to get a seat that is a bit lower. Can anyone recommend an aftermarket seat that would do the trick ?

Yep, I have a Sparco Evo in mine. Lowers you by a fair bit and gives you significant extra leg room if you need it. Fantastically comfortable and holds you like you wouldn't believe. Definately recommended.

What did you do about the seat rails? Do Sparco do a set for the MX-5

Just fabbed some steel plates that the runners off the stock seats bolt onto. Fortunately I had a spare set of runners so I can swap between stock and race seat in minutes.

If you go for the same seat drop me a line if you want the specs for the adapter plates. I have a mate who works in a machine shop that would probably fab up them for you for minimal cost.

Sparco and OMP do a big range of seat mounts (OMP even had one for the Seicento!!!) So I have a feeling you'll be able to find one..

Using the OMP in my Sei brought the seat height down by about 4 or 5 inches, without the slider, that'd be 5 or 6.. so it give plenty of extra room..

Thanks Phiul, I'll bear that in mind. At the moment I'm considering changing them from the orginal leather ones to something more sporty, but haven't decided what yet.
