After looking at your garage history, I can see why you dont like it getmecoat

Here is a definition i found for hairdersser car:
A small 'sports car' (I use the term sports car loosely), featuring an underpowered engine. Predominantly owned by girls & 'metro' boys. Has more show than go. examples include: celica, mx-5, s2000. occupants of these vehicles invariably buy them because they are "stylish" not because of any performance or convenience factors. Often garners the argument "i'd beat you in corners" or "its not a hairdressers car! its a sports car!" the st205 celica was nominated hairdressers choice in 1996.

Taken from http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hai...

I'm not one to throw stones, I have owned 2 MX5's and loved the S2000 too !

I've got a feeling or a hunch that that urban dictionary bit on hairdressers cars was compiled by someone who owns a German car.
I can understand the MX5 being mentioned (even though I know it's a decent motor), but never heard of a Celica being a hair dressers car nor an S2000 (which I used to own). It's one of the most raw sports cars in its calibre and does 0-60 in 5.9.
I would've thought the Audi TT would be top of the list of modern day hairdressers cars along with the bog standard Z4.

OMG I saw my first one on the road on Friday.........

and..... I liked it.

It had a good road presence and actually looked a little bigger than i expectd, for me its a shame the rear seats arn't bigger, but otherwise I am finally understanding the hype.

Anyone know anything about servicing, dealer says its £1200 for three year servicing pack; seems a bit steep.

That sounds bloody steep! I'd have thought they would be a couple of hundred quid for a regular service and maybe 300 for a big one?

The 'deal' I was offered was c. £800 three years/services @ twenty-odd quids per month. Supposed to be fixed at today's rates less 10% discount according to salesman.
I declined his kind offer.

Which lets be honest, solely on looks, that's not a bad thing.

it certainly isn't! I love the newer Hyundai Coupe. But then, its also around the same price too is it not? You just cant grumble. I really dont like the back end though on the GT86 though.

true, and the Hyundai is as tuneable as the GT86, the major difference being FWD v RWD
