They are fat pigs too.
Ford once made a Mustang with 600lb v8 that weighed 2700lbs (1227kg). How can a sportscar weigh more than a barge??

They need to knock off at least 200kg before they call that overweight scow a sportscar.

It's 1200 kilos ffs, that is bloody light for the size of it.

Esprit V8TT is 1375kg
Lambo Murky is 1650kg
360CS is 1260kg
Ford GT is 1550kg.

RX8 not really a focused 'sports car'.
Is it?

I'm rather enjoying this - we seem to be 'suffering' an influx of usable sports cars, S2000, RX8, 350Z....

Even the SLK has become drivable!

Eh, gossip was in one motoring rag that Mazda was working on a new rotary for the new 7. One said wider rotors again as two are cheaper to assemple than another cosmo triple. Damnit. I wanted to see a 20B renesis. That'd be enough to make me go

The other thought was that it might actually be an all new block, with larger diametre rotors. That'd be interesting. It'd have more torque I'd guess, and need to revv less so helping seals. I hope they just do as good a job with it as they have all the 7's. If they can trump the much lamented late FD series in looks, they get to retain 'sexiest japanese car' crown personally.

350Z is nice and all, but personally the FD is so shapely, lithe and lovely all the same time. Beauty.

NO Turbo? tut tut
1200kg, for a car that size it means dreadful road noise, as Toyota think its sporty. You might hear the engine over the tyres, but they will do nothing about that awful tyre noise that was so horrid in the other Supra's. Ah well, another weekend DIY sound deading job may well be in the future.

I think the Bangle comments are a bit harsh, those look more like curves rather than Bangel creases to me.

I just like more flowing lines . . . Mmmh, almost TVRish.

Now, can we also have a proper replacement for the RX7 too. There's been rumours for a while, but I wanna see it NOW!

Now that looks very nice indeed. Bring it on. Hope the interior isn't too plasticy though ...

The side view is fine but what about from the front, head on? Not so sures myself? The other picture did kind of have the Bangly creases along the side but with profile like curves. This could be a great car! Toyota have the power to make a car that would decimate all the competition for price to performance. I'm thinking 50k USD for the V10 would be satisfactory.

Pedestrian shovel . . .

What happened to this thingy?

And I don't mean the woman looking sad after an obviously dissapointing testdrive . . .
