I came across one of these this morning (not in the UK). Looked like a standard MX8 but with 16" wheels, a rear spoiler, auto gearchange and paddle shift.

I assume it will have the 190 bhp engine; I cannot find any information on the web about this car. Can anyone help?

Spoiler & wheels could be owner modified.Have seen some beautiful examples of 'owner done' auto models in the UK.Very desireable cars imo.

Sounds interesting. There is a big gap in the market for sports coupes with an auto gear box without going the hairdresser route. That is why I settled on the FTO.

Over in the states a manual gearbox is the rarer option. (Foreign Shift)

MX8?? nope, don't know what that is. Do you mean MX5 or RX8?

It'll be the RX8 I guess

No Auto for the Euro market for now.

Japan , Australia and US get em, cheapo 16" wheels, crappy auto box and the 4 port 190-210bhp motor limited to 7.5k rpm.

Auto box makes it a very slow car in a straight line, and typicaly if its got 16" wheels its a very basic model with downrated front brakes, suspension, no DSC etc.

Only point to em is to sell to fat americano's who cant drive sticks.

Whoops RX8 yes not an MX8; sorry for the confusion!

The brakes looked about the same size. Does anyone know how many ratios in the gearbox? Yes, yes, I know I should ask the salesman but he wouldn't have a clue; they are not Mazda Dealers - and the Mazda dealers only import 230 bhp manuals.

They are relatively cheap here as the (high) Import Duty, Registration Fees and Road Fund Licence (£32 pa) are based on engine capacity.

Its a 4 speed Auto box.

It does get the 16" wheels and small brakes as standard, the bigger brakes, 18" wheels and LSD are an option.

197bhp at 7200rpm , redline at 7500, front disks are 11.93 inches as opposed to 12.72.

I think theres plans to introduce an auto/manual ala DSG sometime in the future , tho when who knows.

Also least in the UK for tax purposes its counted as a 2,600cc car engine.
