On a different note - what is it about Japanese cars that attracts such devotion on the basis of country of origin?
You often read people saying "I want a Japanese car" - far more than 'I want a German/Italian/French car". Where being Japanese is the first consideration before marque, body style or any of the other usual key criteria.
What is it about the Japanese marques and what are the characteristics they share in common that inspire this?

Only what i've read or seen but go back 30 + years and British cars were unreliable then came the Jap car's which where reliable and would keep on going without the need for a full tool box in the boot. the service and reliability for example of my old FRV I had 6 years was great. the service from the dealer great, and the car never needed a light bulb changed. then I went to Ford. it went down hill
Much like my Honda fireblade they Japanese just make some bloody good cars and some of the best bikes out there. generators etc...
I'm a Huge fan of Japanese car's and bikes.
