Hi all,

We're putting a cylinder head back on one of these and seem to be struggling for some info.

Currently: Page EM-57 of this document http://bgbonline.celicatech.com/93celica/em/timing... is showing 2 torque figures for the bolt holding the cam pulleys on. Anyone know why 2 torque figures? Initial and check tightening torques perhaps?

Appreciate any help, thanks.

The clue is in the first picture. The lower figure is for use with a specific adapter tool on the intake side. Never used one personally, I've always just used a regular torque wrench

^^This^^

Hence the HINT. smile

What is doesn't explain is why. It assumes you already know the underlying principle.
The inclusion of the SST has moved the point on which the business end of the torque wrench is acting.
All other things being equal, a bit of reverse calcuation will tell you what effect that will have on the pulley bolt. wink
