I was thinking of starting off a project with a 1.3 toyota starlet converting in to a glanza replica. I am new to this and want to start off right. Ive seen one sat at a garage i know for 3 months which the owner is trying to get rid of for £300 but needs a new box (which aint a problem) starts and runs sweet, no rust, generally looked after by previous elderly owners appart from the knackered box.

What parts would i need making a turbo replica? Is it a complicated process? Is a £2500 budget too little? I would appreciate any advice before i get the ball rolling. I have worked on cars in general just not done a turbo conversion before.

So the base car you’re looking at buying is £300, and you have a £2.5k budget.

That’s £2.8k – save up a few hundred quid and you could pick up a decent Glanza if you’re willing to be patient and fussy.

Thought Glanzas have gone up, looking at closer to £4k for even a half decent one now
