Mitsubishi Colt semi-auto!

Hi, hope someone can help.
Recently got a Mitsubishi Colt 2007. Its the 1.5 DI-D (Mercedes 3 cylinder Diesel). Bought it as economical runner for the wife to commute but has few issues. Had been stood for a while. Done service etc but has intermittent misfire, not sure injector issue? No fault codes.
More important issue, is that the semi auto box doesnt always go into 1st gear. Usually starts in 2nd and once going it changes up/down fine in auto/manual mode. When it does go into 1st it clunks like a sound similar to a worn cv joint. I know the weak point can be clutch actuator on these models but dont want to buy replacement and fit if thats not the problem. Have heard they can be adjusted / reset? To confirm there are no fault codes on the car. Is it a feasible repair or should I get shot of it?> Thanks
