If by an RS you mean gravel brakes, steel wheels and the most basic seats in the world then yes, but with some basic mods they make IMHO the best fast road EVOs, as a daily car no but as a weekend car YES!!!

Some RSs even had A/C and central locking
..and the big brembos with normal wheels were an option too
I had the optional Big Brembos on my V, with the Superleggera wheels. Epic brakes, much better than the STi ones which looked similar but weren't as good.

It also had a sunroof smile

Should never have sold that car.

Yep! And and with those options they only needed some decent seats to be fantastic B road cars.

The standard discs and brake cooling on the 6 aren’t great but can be easily sorted out!

Don't talk to me about brakes!

The standard brembos are nowhere near up to standard for track. I've put Alcon 6 pots on mine, and struggling with judder still. I'm hoping it's that the RS29's melting, as there's a lot of smearing on the disks.

RS2 VI would be my choice, especially a VI Extreme that was based on an RS2. No ABS, No AYC, but with the RS quick rack and diffs, some lovely seats out of the factory and AC. Oh, and lots more power. smile

The one my old man never should have sold.

That’s sort of my car

I bought an RSX (RS 2 with a retrimmed interior) new from Ralliart UK the builders of the Xtreme

I still have it but now changed to the RS gearbox, polybushed all round with KW dampers with AP 6 fronts and 4 pot rears, HKS turbo with 1.7 bar and new rods / pistons and a mild cam, ot’s a GREAT road car

I’m not convinced the RS2 has a quicker steering rack because I have a 7RS and the steering feels noticeably quicker

As for brakes, have you tried Carbotech? The pads above XP10 might be worth a try

Your car sounds a lovely spec, any thread or pics anywhere? I’m on IG as adamlstr

Pretty sure the RS and RS2 had the 2.3 turn lock to lock rack, and the GSR was 2.6, so not a great deal different anyway.

From TME onwards, I believe they went to 2.3 on all models.

I do have a set of XP10 inbound, just need to find time to clean up the disks!

No threads of decent pics unfortunately

Other perciarities about my 6 are that I had the rear wing removed (which is great for baiting people who are more intersted in badges) and a carbon propshaft (do I notice the difference? No, has it made a difference? Maybe)

My 6 is now nearing the need for work to the underside because it’s not great, not terrible but I should get on with sorting it out now, here is a pic of my 7RS which has done 10k miles but is honesty in “as new” condition inside, outside and underside I’m not sure it’s ever been driven in the wet
