Agree with all of the above, Owning the mk1 I would suggest going with the mk2 for the quieter ride and 6 gears.
Otherwise absolute nothing wrong with it in my eyes except the massive A-Pillars have sometimes caused me to not see a car when pulling out, just something to be aware of.

The Mk2 Sport is a great all-rounder. I bought one new in 2016. Then bought the latest Mk3 turbo Sport. I've been driving it for a few months now. Both cars are fantastic. Both are a joy to drive. Light weight and sharp handling. You don't need gobs of power to have fun. Just a rewarding chassis with enough power to keep things interesting. Mind you the Mk3 turbo Sport is pretty quick on the move.

I just sold my s2000 for an ep3 civic type r.
Turns out it's way more fun and won't be going back to an s2000 in a hurry.
Invested the spare money into a property instead.
