Is a sick car Batty? Or are you fettling already?
Are you going to be able to take it to Wales?

BTW, 'liner is now T&T'ed, tho boost needs a little tweak/tlc. Will for a &/or in a couple of weeks or so, once my meds have settled down a bit.

to go o/t a bit more....
no its broke, well long story short the cambelt was a fresh one, but after 13000miles had almost worn away
one of the tensioners had semi-seized on its bearings, which then refused to be removed.
Angle grind off bolt only tto find its semi-impossible to find a replacement.
oh well, back today (maybe)...
feel free to drop me a line whenever bud...

As Ted said, there are no shortages of specialist forums dedicated to single marques, and models, so the appeal of Japchat is we're all bunched together.

I dont post anywhere except JC really.

If it aint broke, dont fix it

I dont really mind, theres far fewer general Jap genre forums than specific ones out there and its better having the mix. It prevents the usual, "our brand is best and we'll flame you till you agree or bugger off" attitude.

I can hide here once I convert my dads 69 Lotus to run on a Toyota 4AGZE engine too so the Lotus buffs dont kill me. Duno where I'll hide from the old man though...

Theres no need to be slagging off Saabs.

Quite enough of that thank you peterpeter, don't criticise what you don't understand

Agree with the general concensus here, I dip into Japchat from time to time as I have a soft spot for some rice rockets. I never look in the TVR section though apart from the "S" club as there're too many specific forums - don't know where to start!

I think it would detract from the place - there are plenty of model specific forums that Evo owners or Supra owners can go with particular questions I've seen a few forums in the past that have been totally ruined by having a huge number of different sections, and after a year or so there are only about 3 topics in each

Isn't it more that they only joined here because of the Tunnel Run, and lost interest afterwards? Possibly the opportunity to "mix it" with more exotic machinery in a kind of automotive weeing contest was the catalyst?

Still I reckon there is no need to pare it down to manufacturers/models. I lurk in here a fair bit and if somebody has an MX-5 query for example, they post that in the topic title and the forum doesn't move quickly enough for it to become page 2 before most have seen it.

With individual forums the danger that people will frequent fewer and so topics won't reach the audience they did previously. I've seen the same thing happen on BBSes and it led to dead sections that were eventually deleted through lack of use.

One interesting point- remember the last Tunnel Run before it went 'underground' (excuse the pun) there were a fair load of Jap cars, out of which 5-6 were regular Japchatters, and the rest have never been seen or heard of again- is it because of the mix that they aren't interested?

Probably just no time to post... a lot of people simply enjoy the events without being regular contributers to the forums.
