Any zc32 Suzuki swift sport users?

I'm planning to get one in the next few months, probably 2012-15 model.
Is there any issue in disconnecting the battery regularly? (long airport stays). I do this all the time and the only issue I've come across is cars with batt mgt systems where the smart alternator ideally needs to be programmed to the battery after each disconnect. not a problem here, but worth asking. is the radio coded?
anything specific you'd look for with this year of car?
thx
I’d just make sure the battery is good to start with. They don’t seem to suffer any drain that disconnecting would help. Maybe have one of those small booster packs just in case.Is there any issue in disconnecting the battery regularly? (long airport stays). They have a few foibles like the instrument needles not lighting up and gear linkage bushes falling apart. Some leak into the boot well area either from the antenna mount or air vent behind the bumper.
A clutch is expensive so worth making sure it’s ok.
After reading numerous threads on here, I decided to jump in and get a ZC32. It's generally pretty nice, but little bit baggy in the suspension and steering after 99k miles.
I've had a look at genuine Suzuki shock absorbers but they cost a fortune and Autodoc list Monroe replacements for about a quarter of the price. Are these likely to be the same as the OEM part? If not, could anyone recommend an aftermarket replacement?
I'll probably replace the top mounts, drop links and wishbones whilst I'm there. Maybe use some polybushes, too. Does anyone have any experience of using polybushes on a ZC32?

I think those are the correct parts for the Swift 1.2, not the Sport.I had a new rear damper under warranty, and I think the correct part number is 41800-70L00 or 41800-70L01 (revised version?). Autodoc show a Suzuki part number for the rear damper of 41800-68L00, which I believe is the version for the 1.2.
The dealer originally replaced my rear damper with the version for the 1.2 and it looks different (yellow bump stop?), feels different (car rocked side to side slightly over speed bumps), and it would have been a lot cheaper!

Thank you, I did notice that they were listing the same part number for multiple versions. It was the same with the Bilstein B4s, both at Autodoc and other factors.I had a new rear damper under warranty, and I think the correct part number is 41800-70L00 or 41800-70L01 (revised version?). I don't suppose you could recommend a decent aftermarket equivalent for the Sport dampers, could you?
I think your options are:
1. Stick with OEM and suck up the cost - they are good dampers
2. Some variety of Bilstein (not the B4) - I don't know the pros and cons of the different options, but I've heard that some are good and can ride ok
3. Coilovers

I have read that the Bilstein B4's work well. You could also try the sportier B6 suspension with standard springs. Coilovers are an option, Tein Street Basis are supposedly a good bet. I have the Bilstein B14 kit and it is good on road and track. But, the moment you start changing the ride height by much, you will alter the geometry. If you want to keep the ride quality and handling, you need to fit a roll centre adjuster and have the suspension set up by someone who knows what they are doing. This can be expensive. Think, I would just go for the B6's with OEM springs if the car is just for the road. Replace the drop links and top mounts while you are at it. Wishbone bushes are hard to replace. If I did it all over again, I would buy new Suzuki wishbones at £300 for the pair.

That's very useful, thank you. Edited by PJ_Parsons on Monday 1st May 23:40

It appears the B6 front dampers are either no longer available or out of stock everywhere, but I'll keep my eyes open and will investigate the Tein options.

Hi, I would not recommend the B4s as just put a full set on my Son’s 2014 Sport and they are really soft, now looking at B6s so if anyone knows anywhere that has them in stock please let me know.
The rear dampers are listed on Autodoc. I'm still trying to find somewhere that stock the front ones.Wally68 said:

Unfortunately, at that price, you're only a tenner short of an OEM part.
Found some B6s here for a much better price and had some stock so delivery is today only had to wait 6 days from order.
