Topped out at 153 with intake temps of 77

better intercooling required and bigger rad on the way.

Hmm and theres a chance I might be there soon. Thats a bit off putting, but ignorance is bliss!

I'd seriously think twice about getting it's a/f's checked out. If you can spring to getting it mapped then you'll potentially save yourself another big rebuild bill. I'd have almost certainly lost the engine if I hadn't as the stock fuel pump was on it's last legs... with your mods though and a non-mappable chip you might be in danger. 4th and 5th gear peak-torque pulls are seriously stressful for a lean motor!

Is that to replace the rear spoiler Iain?

Only becasue i wa soooooo much faster than the RX that i needed to keep the bonnet from popping, ask Slinky - he nearly crapped himself at 150 !!

It's funny how much faster 150+ felt in the chim than the same speed in the rex (which felt more dramatic than the same speed in Gaz's supra).

My moneys on the RX7.

Why? He'll hold onto each gear for longer between shifts due to a higher revving engine.
Less time spent in the dead-spot between shifts will help to level the field i reckon.

Let us know how it goes....i want my winnings...

Sadly we went head-to-head twice yesterday and Justin crossed the finish line 1st both times. He also set a higher top speed of 157 to my 153 iirc.

I could come out with a bunch of qualifications and excuses but the bottom line is that yesterday he beat me!

Most of it was in the launch too I think, he had a good lead by 40 mph and it remained about the same both runs.

Once we were heading down the main streight the gap remained pretty much the same.

That was the same story for the Supra vs RX7 or P1 or NSX, although everyone kicked my arse off the line and around the bottom bend.

The line i can understand although there are ways

Bottom bends just having confidence in the car (TBH although i'm an ex racer its the 1st time i've run the tiv that ragged and it was great finding the break point a few times)

Just push it a bit harder next time, The SLK last time was a joy to drift !!

Bah and humbug I say! Unfair advantage and all that

I was slowly increacing the speed through the bottom bend all day but never really felt as though I was pushing it that close. Fastest I came out of there all day was ~80mph.

Bollox - - I havent raced for years - and your half my weight

I was approaching the corner on the limiter in 4th at about 120ish braking into 3rd at 75 and then exiting the corner just shy of a ton...

My big spin was at about 110ish (but i think that was down to leaky PS fluid now

I did against Trackdemon, got it turned in, then went digital on the loud pedal! T/C was off but it never unstuck the rear end!

Traction Control? Pah!

Tried to get the back end moving coming out of the bottom turn but it wasn't having it either - I need to carry a little more speed and get closer to the edge I think!

Sounds about the same ofr approach althoug i was breaking to maybe 65 and then flat on the gas almost immediately after the 1st apex. Not sure where I'd coutn the corner as over but wasn't carrying that much speed out of it...

I must admit, it was rather fun from the passenger seat, first time I've been in a spin (apart from snow handbrake interfaces!), so it was good to be in a BIG one!!!
