Just bought Evo 6?
Discussion
Looks lovely OP, like the colour.
I joined the club last year. Other than a rotational clunking when at full lock (that I can’t work out what’s causing it) it’s been a pleasure to own and really is an ‘event’ when I take it for a Sunday morning drive (how can anything be quicker on a twisty B road?!)
Where do people think clean Evo 6 values will end up? I wonder if the fact TME prices are going wild will push up?

Welcome to the fold OP. As you say, they’re absolutely superb cars and not much comes close for feel, especially in four door saloon style.
I’ve had four and had my current one, an Evo V for five years now. Can’t see me selling it even though I’m always being offered (good offers) to buy it.
Stage 1 on these cars is a very capable package with some good suspension and brake upgrades.
I fitted Ohlins to mine along with some Alcon 6 pots on 365mm disks, great B road blaster

Here’s a pic of mine. Had an amazing day at Gawsworth Hall a few weeks back. Didn’t win any thing, but the day overall was superb, and rammed!
Heading over to Oulton Park next month for Tunerfest if you’re local, it’s always a good day out and there’s around 20 of us that normally meet up for a drive out too.

I was happy with stage 1 for 11 years then I commited to a bit more (HKS turbo with 1.8 bar, cams, forged rods and pistons, RS gearbox)I’ve had four and had my current one, an Evo V for five years now. Can’t see me selling it even though I’m always being offered (good offers) to buy it.

On the suspension I enjoyed the car after polybushing every bush and changing the rear anti rollbar, I have KW suspension, would love to try Ohlins
I nearly had the 6 pot Alcons but there was a problem with the standard wheels so went with AP 6s
The V is the best looking, particularly the RS front (no I don’t have one)

Haha, always the way, the hunger for more shove becomes too much. I actually have a HKS Kai Turbo, JMS manifold and a couple of supporting bits in the garage with the intention of having it ‘upgraded’ at some point. On the suspension I enjoyed the car after polybushing every bush and changing the rear anti rollbar, I have KW suspension, would love to try Ohlins

Did you notice much difference with the new roll bar?
Yeh the V is a very aggressive look, though when I had my later cars years ago wasn’t even on my radar! Tastes change eh.

Shameless post of my car.
Very proud to own one of the rarest Evos out there, just need a small lottery win to spend the money required on respraying and various cosmetic repairs to get it back to looking how it should (photo taken YEARS ago when it looked great)
Nothing wrong with sharing the pics, makes the thread more interesting! An Extreme built on an RS Sprint? Never very good with those models Extreme put out back in the day.Very proud to own one of the rarest Evos out there, just need a small lottery win to spend the money required on respraying and various cosmetic repairs to get it back to looking how it should (photo taken YEARS ago when it looked great)

One of my best friends owned Ralliart UK / Xtreme, I drove loads of his cars 6 Extreme / 7 Extreme S, all sorts of other tuned Evos which I wasn’t mad about because lots relied on big turbos for big numbers but had lots of lagDid you notice much difference with the new roll bar?

Then they lent me a 7RS with a modified standard size turbo and s load of boost (forged rods and pistons, pump and injectors) and that was it, it blew my mind!
For me coupling it with an RS gearbox was absolutely key!
Rear ARB, I changed it after TWENTY years and yes for sure it makes a difference, sharper response to steering response, almost like the steering rack ratio had changed slightly and a more keyed in front end, as if it has more negative camber and stickier tyres (but hasn’t)
