No, the 8 wheels don’t suit the 6 at all. The 9 wheels do though I think. Best wheels for the 6 are the Enkei WRC 10 spoke tarmac. Tried to buy some recently for the V, silly money though.
Ohhh, I know this sounds ridiculous but I think I have a set, white, but 16 inch

How much were they?

Ah. No they’re 17x8.5. I was in two minds anyway as it meant losing the 365mm disks which I’ve only just had to buy replacements for at £1k cost!

Yes, that’s them but mine are 16s, I think they have motorsport only stamped on them

Ah, nice! They must have been for an earlier car? Thought 17 was the minimum size for the Brembos on the 5/6.

Yes, hey came with a 7RS I bought that has the “gravel” spec brakes, I.E tiny!

I have the Brembos from my 6 anf have thought about refurbing them and fitting but I quite like the oddballness of them, they kind of fit with the model / history of the car!

I thought about the Reims blue a lot when I ordered my 6 GSR. in 1999, I liked it because it reminded me of 964 RSs but I chickened out and went for safe silver

When I sold to buy my RSX (RS2 there was a choice of silver or white, there less silver ones coming so I was REALLY happy to get one, I now prefer the utilty / “race car base” white, it is the pre preparation colour.

I also have a white 7RS and everything about it is PRE preparation “base for rally car”, it does have alloys but the brakes and seats are comical

I usually choose black for almost any car but don’t really get black EVOs or Integrales

I had a black Quattro, that was good!

I really like the grey 9MRs, white 9MR even more though

I drove a yellow 8 or 9 once, I didn’t get that at all!

HA!!!! :-)

It’s not that they don’t look good, not that at all, I’m just surprised it wasn’t my first choice like it is with almost every other car!

I'm not keen the wheels? got a standard set of Oz super turismo on the way.
I'm looking on a small phone screen, but are they not Rays Engineering Volk Racing TE37s? Copied, mostly by Rota (who make them out of cheese - popular on old MX-5s), but the original forged parts are some of the best wheels that money can buy.

I love Riviera blue on 993 GT2s

I think it’s Maritime blue I was thinking of

They made the R26R in a mad blue too ((extra mad with red wheels)

Apart from the wheels, any other plans for it? Is it stock? Most are not these days. Very easy to extract more power with mapping, air and fuel delivery upgrades etc.

Reims Blue is I think one of the rarest colours around. Very nice!

Looks lovely OP, like the colour.

Other than a rotational clunking when at full lock (that I can’t work out what’s causing it)
Maybe driveshaft bolts!
There is a known issue with bolts in the front diff/transfer box that come loose or wear thus causing a clunk on lock. Not happened with mine but aware of others having the issue. New or uprated bolts are available and it can be done without too much stripping down, so I’m told!

A clunk on lock could also be a cv joint which would be an easier fix.

Mine in 2004 on an epic trip from Lancaster to Milan and back (which is why its really mucky)

The Alps are the perfect place for these cars. The AYC is great at killing understeer on the hairpins.

Just realised, the wheels aren't superlegara, think they were the optional F1's ?

Looks lovely, yes those are the genuine Mitsubishi OZ F1 made in Japan by Enkei because they are only drilled for 5*114.3.

The aftermarket OZ F1 wheels made by OZ in Italy are multi pcd with 5*114.3 + 5*100

Wish I still had it, but it was expensive to maintain. Had it serviced before I left, and had to have it serviced again not long after I got home.

Mind you, it was an epic 4000 mile trip.

Here’s my wife’s pride and joy, a 6TME she’s owned from new in 2000:

I think there can’t be that many Evos owned from new by one ‘mostly’ careful lady owners!

I remember Tamara Beckwith’s sister (nothing like Tamara, more like Vicky Butler Henderson) buying a 6 GSR in 99, wonder how long she kept it!

There is another lady in NW London who has had a few EVOs from new in succession, I’d say she’s very late 60s, her husband has an new Alpine!

She hasn’t owned for 22yrs though

I’ve had my 6 RSX from new in 2000
