They are great cars, I like borrowing my wife’s!
Nice job on the long term RSX ownership!!
They really are something, even now, I say even now but there will never be anything like them again.Nice job on the long term RSX ownership!!
I can’t help being surprised by women driving EVOs, not really the same but my Mum had a Pajero EVO when she was in her 60s, it’s still her favourite car, the one she talks about the most!
If only I knew they rusted underneath, thankfully it’s not terrible but it should be a lot better.
Hopefully I’ll get that dealt with over winter,

I’ll never forget (hope I never will too) my disbelief in the speed you could make direction changes!
The kind of direction change required to exit a motorway when you nearly missed the junction
Not that it happened to me but that kind of high speed late turn in
Yep. They were great at telling the laws of physics to get f**ked. The kind of direction change required to exit a motorway when you nearly missed the junction
Not that it happened to me but that kind of high speed late turn in

Looks stunning in black! I was originally looking for evo 6 or 8mr?I feel for the play station generation wanting to buy evos, subarus and skylines as the prices are going nuts?
Reminds me of E30 m3, 911 and Integrale prices 10 Years ago?

The AYC really helped keep the rear end under control. The kind of direction change required to exit a motorway when you nearly missed the junction

It felt odd at first, your brain would signal impending oversteer, requiring some pre-emptive winding off of lock, only to find the AYC had already dealt with it.

The odd feeling of never really unwinding lock beyond 12 o’clock but still having the power on!
Ultimately after a year of this I decided I’d rather not have it, so I p/xd for a 6 without AYC and have never regretted it!
I’d quite like to experience it again, but only for a bit!
The Seven really was fail. I remember when it came out thinking "jeez that's just a Proton ( remember them!?) with a big wing and bolshy body panels. It did get better until the X but ( I may be biased ) .......
I still regard the VI as the best looking of the lot.
To this day I thinks it's a very good looking machine amongst the hideous M3's, SUV's and dull non descript hot hatches etc etc.

That’s pretty much what I thought about all EVOs, I saw the Lancer / Cedia I definitely didn’t buy them for their looks, I honestly don’t care what they look like, I do like the looks of the V RS though

I own a 5 but the 7 is my favourite Evo, it's aged the best in my opinion.
When it first came out I thought it had something Passatish about it’s face that put me off, but it’s grown on me, it’s “plainness” is functional!Mine looks like it’s missing a small front splitter or something (but isn’t)

Bit harsh on the old 7 . I for one like them and nearly bought a FQ330 back in the day. Quite a rare beast the 7 these days. I guess it wasn’t too much of a sales success though as they brought the 8 out sharpish.
Nice pair Don
I don’t think these things got released in relation to sales figures, I think 1-7 were released in relation to homolagtion timings, the 6 was the last Group A homologation car and the 7 was the first WRC EVONice pair Don
I don’t think the 7 was a big sales success but this was also during the time of massive litigation in the UK from the CCC to the biggest UK importer of the 6, I imagine that interfered with sales of the 7 too!
I remember very clearly that people were disappointed by the looks, I was too at the time but I do like the plain(ish) functionality now!

Evo 7 didn't do too badly sales wise.
For GSR's Mitsubishi made 12286 IV, 7087 V, 7700 VI and 9841 VII.
I guess these were all JDM only though, Evo 8 onwards was global.
I think the issue with The CCC and Ralliart UK interupted UK sales of the 7!For GSR's Mitsubishi made 12286 IV, 7087 V, 7700 VI and 9841 VII.
