The Seven really was fail. I remember when it came out thinking "jeez that's just a Proton ( remember them!?) with a big wing and bolshy body panels. It did get better until the X but ( I may be biased tongue out) .......

I still regard the VI as the best looking of the lot.

To this day I thinks it's a very good looking machine amongst the hideous M3's, SUV's and dull non descript hot hatches etc etc.
I think the V was the best looking, helped by the symmetric number plate and the bigger lights in the bumper without the chin bulges of the VI without lights.

Yep, the flatness of the front bumper!

I like the 5 RS with the light blanking panels removed! (Doesn’t exactly leave much painted bumper)

I've always considered the 7 to be the ginger step child of Evo's , they never did anything for me , my favs were always the 5, 6 and 9

The 7 GT-A was the lowest point of EVOs for me!

I like the grey 9 MRs, I saw a white 9 MR that looked even better!

I've always thought the 9 wagon was a bit of a bargain, all the hardware of a saloon but more space and less money usually. I've thought about one on and off for a while, but in reality I'm already too invested in mine to justify selling it. Plus, I don't want to frighten the dog. laugh She's had 10 years of comparatively genteel luxury in the back of an IS300 Sportcross, the culture shock might finish her off!

Looks GREAT with those wheels, you must be very happy!

My first EVO 6 was T224 UHU, yours must must have come in the same batch via Rotterdam as mine, I think mine had a little rubber sticker say number 57

I think uhu reg numbers were ralliart imports? this is number 13 according to mitsubishi pdi sheet.

Yes they were!

We had to go on a day trip to Rotterdam to drive the cars around a compound as part of the importation process, then they were shipped to the UK!

These cars were imported by Ralliart UK in Dudley, it was an INCREDIBLY exciting time, the owner of Ralliart UK became a very close friend of mine, he now has this for sale, which has blown my mind

Do you have a link to the sheet you can share by any chance? I bought an official Ralliart car many moons ago - it has a 300 something number stamped on the service book (it’s in the 330s) although no numbering on the car itself and is a very late 51 reg VI.

Thanks

I was just a customer when this was all going on but I was around the company a lot and formed great friendships with them, but yes, there was REAL excitement about what was happening, despite previous EVO evolutions it was the 6 that woke the UK up to how capable these things are, they were such a leap forward from my Integrale EVO

I remember going to the Monaco GP in my 6 GSR in 2000 and feeling I was in something REALLY special, I took it for a drive in the mountains behind Nice and Monaco prayimg I’d meet a Ferrari or Porsche of somesort on the windy roads

I THINK Ralliart UK imported hundreds not thoussnds of cars, I very much doubt that Jon still hss any records but I’m sure he’d give you a very good idea of numbers if you contacted him, he’s a very nice guy!

A bad pic of a bad pic!

Agree with Don; Jon is a really nice guy and helped me a little bit when I was trying to find out a bit of the history on my Evo.

You can find him at sales@jksc.co.uk, if he doesn’t get it I’m sure Andy will pass it on to him!
