I was, they should "swirl back" as said.

I'm rather hoping not.

Same direction as grooves would be right in this case, AP disk vents do not go the same way as the grooves and looking at the very top of the disk I think you can see which way the vents go. Might be wrong though.

I expect that disc has straight vanes not curved ones. Even if it does have curved ones it won't make too much difference which way they point. I've only ever heard of curved vanes being used to surpress noise. Air flows from the centre of a disc outwards so there is no ram effect with a curved disc.

Regarding the grooves in te disc face, again it doesn't matter which way they point. They are only there to reduce glazing of the pad by releasing hot gassed and other crud.

Don't they also (admittedly as a secondary function) help disperse water?

This is a rally-slag remember...

May be a bit old hat by now.Just read some stuff on brake design & physics.-Awfully dry & techie, for Stephan Hawking types only!
Anyway the 'Vanes' debate. As far as I understand it,the curved vanes running between the two dic faces are curved to increase their surface area to enhance cooling, rather than being air-flow type ducts, which also would in theory help with cooling.Probs here being (a)discs are *inside* the aero rim of the wheel & not in a natural air flow. (b) This is prob more important.Expansion rates,as the disc is heating up unless both surfaces are *thermal/expansivity matched* warping may occur. There are other esoteric causes for warping-but hey! thats' another story.
Perhaps vane direction isn't so critical.

I am sure AP would not go to the trouble of manufacturing/stocking handed discs if it made no difference.

The stock toyota discs are handed. These aftermarket ones look like they're not....

I've never had a problem with brake fade, so I guess they're up to the job.

Not disputing left & right sided discs at all
Just saying that the vanes that run between the 2 disc surface are curved/swirled to increase surface area & enhance even heat distribution....i think

Porsche & AP disks are designed to suck air from the centre and chuck it out the edge, they'd be no point in increasing the surface area if no air passes by, I assumed that all disks worked in the same way.

I did too.
According to the stuff I read.Even disipation of heat is the primary concern so as not to distort disc surfaces.

We could prob go on like this for ever chaps!

That would be far too simple James, you know I have to over complicate every thing!
