Mk 1 Supra!!

That black Supe is very tasty, I'd fogotten how good they looked! So many cars, so little time (and money )

Another vote for the Skyline over here, even my humble GTS25 is great fun to drive. Cheap as chips these days, great soundtrack, and with 200 horses it's not exactly slow. Totally reliable so far as well.

What started me thinking about good Jap GT cars was nissan 300Z TT targa.

What sort of a reputation do they have, any big problems with these?

I still think the Supra and the GTO are the nicest in the looks department and the MR2, followed by the 300Z

So is your Supra Gazboy. Must admit that I was very tempted by the 3ltr Supra. Still fancy one. Maybe one day.....

A good 300ZX is indeed a lovely beast

Poss downsides:Very tight engine bay,so it's 'engine out!' for anything more than simple jobs.Waterpump/cooling probs & leaks.Often incorrectly/poorly serviced,i.e. the double oil filter syndrome.Skyline owners have used up most of the old stock of AFM's

I've said it before, and I'll say it again..Why oh why di they not put a big monster turbo nutter engine in the FTO?? Looks as good as any other car out there, but fwd, and even the mivec is a bit limp... It is screaming for the evo engine, and a rwd/awd setup! Would be a cracking car than!

Sorry I must have skipped the small price sentence.

I will have to say the 300ZX as I had one myself in 1994 and they are fantastic cars.

The FTO is also one of my favourites.

I think it would have killed the EVO stone dead!

theres a modified evo 7 engine/drivetrained 4WD FTO and a 2.5V6 Twin turbo'd Galant engined FTO about.

Same as him.

Can't wait until next week when I get mine.

Is it right for a grown man to be that excited about a car that he can't sleep? I did not even feel like this when I picked up the M3.

Why didn';t they make it???? Why!!!

It would have sold a lot more than the evo methinks... Better looking, 9in an exotic type of way), and would be quick as a big bag of fecking quick things!! Would have been up there with Supras, etc...

Uhhmm, I really appreciate all the comments here. They've been objective and giben me loads to think about.

I think the 200sx is a fantastic car dynamically but rather bland inside, the second generation was a lot more appealing externally but still a bit commuter car inside.

The late Supra is very interesting, there are many around so not such an unusual sight. Same goes for the FTO and not such a blast to drive as it could be. MR2 is a bit small plus I'd like a bit of spece in the rear for sprogs oneday.

The 300Z is a striking looking car, great performance, space in the rear. The dash is awesome for an early 90's car, way way way ahead of anything else. The downside is that if anything goes wrong it is expensive to fix but I suspect that it's rare to get major faults on a car with such a good record of reliability.

I guess the best thing to do is choose which 300Z very carefully.

Are there any real horror stories that I should be aware of?
