It doesn't exactly look like a rally car though does it?

Do the road going versions of the all-conquering pugs and citroens look like rally cars?

I think it looks good, the front reminds me of the old 'sharknose' Galant

Is that rear diffuser for show though, or does it actually suck the car down?

I do think that if you look at a standard Xsara you can imagine how it would look as a rally version ... possibly less so the Pug, but then the only 307 with that shape that I've seen is the CC, anyone know if they actually make a fixed head coupe in that shape?

To me looking at the Evo X I can see a fantastic looking track car, but can't really see it on steroids in rally form.

Also, is it just me or can anyone else see a touch of the DB9's about the front end?

It looks sufficiently tasty. I'll agree with wedgepilot, it does remind me a bit of the Galant. My only doubt is the transmission - I'm not a fan of sequentials (granted, the only one I've driven was a Daihatsu Sirion GTvi) because I find using the clutch on convential manuals such an integral part of driving. As for the suspension and stuff like that, each generation of EVO has always been updated with super chassis technology and all that. Hope that's an indication of the next Lancer though. In Australia at the moment, the base engine is a 115kw (around 150-odd hp) 2.4 MIVEC 4, which you'd have to say isn't bad in a car costing the equivalent of 8 thousand pounds.

Better than current models...still wouldn't have one with one of those silly chav spoilers on.

Looks a bit like a Transformer (old kids tv series..robots in disguise)...is it a decepticon?

yes yes...

That’s a really nice design actually, from what I’ve seen of other Mitsubishi performance cars it will probably be stunningly fast (I think the one they tested on top gear is the fastest car with rear seats on their track time board ?). Not sure about this two door business, surly the point is that it’s a family car with a boot that can keep up with Lamborghinis and Ferraris and not another BMW coupe competitor?

Either way I’m sure a few PHers will buy one and who can blame them when you get that much performance in a usable car without digging their hands deep for a similarly fast Porsche or Mercedes?

Not necessarily, the 'gentlemans agreement' in Japan has been killed off now, so its horsepower a-go-go....

Is that so? GOOD news I've heard already it could probebly have about 334hp standard? lets keep our fingers crost

The next gen VQ32DETT GTR, V10 NSX and 4UZ (4.6l V8) or V10 Supra are all shooting for 400-500hp. Yes!!! However even when the agreement did exist it was widely known the Evo Six and all GTRs had a good 30-40 hp over the agreement.
