What an age we live in. Like most things, I think there are benefits to ordering new - I would assume you get the most up to date ECU settings and all 'fixes' discovered during its short life will have been applied.

Hi Phantomph (wouldn't that be better as Phantoomph ),

I've just replied on the very subject across in the RX8 Owners Club board:

Plus, take a look at my profile for an idea of my first year's running costs

Why not try the dealership and ask for a 24 hour test drive or something? They may do a half day one or something like that? Worth a try?

I sat in one of these at the motorshow a while back and really liked it in the back! I'm 6ft 2" and it was nice, seemed like more space than in the front?

But, I think this, you want it and know of it's slight downsides (oil, mpg) as most cars have. You've thought about it long and hard. Don't worry about a facelift, so what if it changes in 4 months? You still got the car you like and for all the right reasons.

The BMW will cost more, have less spec and won't drive as well I don't think.

Get what you desire.....

Has to be said when I drove one it felt very alert and agile, and even with TC on would wag the tail about 5 degrees under provocation...but you could feel it, felt progressive and controllable. If I'd had the money and hadn't subsequently got a job nearly 40 miles away I'd probably have got one!
