WANTED: honda 1.8 Type R integra engine, box & wiring loom. preferably jap spec motor but any considered.

need this to put into mini

Sounds fun, I really wanted to do this but ended up spending the money on my TVR instead.

HEHE keep the TVR for another year or so and i'll have a pop, still gotta build mini - then sort out the insurance (only 18 at the moment! probs aim to finish building it when i'm about 20 ish so insurance goes down!)

gonna start on an mg powered mini next need more grunt than 998! getting bored.

I had the MG turbo engine in mine, minus the turbo but skimmed the head with some flowing and a decent cam it was great, just got another mini and have lots of bit for a 1380 so I’ll be building one up soon. Should be fun to get me to work then the Griff for the weekend, I think the best mod for the mini is the non-turbo MG engine, find a metro with no mot etc that will cost around £50-100 then get a LCB, K&N, ultra light flywheel, they really help the revs build quickly, you’ll get double the BHP of the standard car!

The problem with major engine mods are the cost, the Honda conversion starts at about £4000 then respraying etc you will spend big, also I thought only the 1.6 VTEC fits in the current kits.

Theres definately a member of the Honda-R club with a vtec mini - powered by a B18c with individual throttle bodies! Circa 250bhp...

The 'Ring Mini' is quite famous!! With a Honda Type-R Vtec engine it can keep up with pretty much anything.

Damn!

I've a Mini with a knackered 'A' series sitting on the driveway and Twin-cam Honda 'D16A' (twi-cam version if that engine) kicking about the shed.

I wonder how much he would want for the plans for that front subframe?

I'm itching to do something really special now!

Used to be a guy come to where i used to work, for parts for his BDA powered reliant kitten.
Revved to 11k on the dyno! Was a howler !

I doubt the bonnet will clear a B18CR motor, the B16A is a tight squeeze and the B18C has a taller block to accomodate its longer stroke.

If you want to spend that sort of money how about starting with a B16A which you should be able to get for alot less money and upgrading it to B16B (Civic Type R) specs. The B16B uses a B18C block so that wouldnt fit either but theres no reason why you couldnt build the B16A to rev to more than 9000 as Ive had my stock one close to that

The D16a sitting in the shed will do just fine for now. As the mountings are the same, I could move on to a B16 later on....maybe.
