Ok well I will admit to clicking on the reserve your car now on Mitsi's website.
I don't blame you, that's a very nice piece of Kit. Personally i'm a big scooby fan, however, those on here giving it the large one about bland, ugly, OMG it's an auto, etc..., either can't afford one or are just far too narrow minded to see beneath the skin.
If Subaru can't make the new impreza as good as this Evo then i may just jump ship, it's got my vote!!
I like it. It looks like its got some balls. Couldn't look any worse than its predecessors. People on here are moaning about Mitsi having squandered a chance to really improve on the EVO. Well there's only so much you can do to a 2 litre car, and I believe both Mitsu and Subaru are both at the point where they're squeezing every last drop of advantage out of their cars, mechanically – so it has to be a facelift job.
I think they've done a good job. Ok, so it does look a bit Audi-ish from the front and a bit Honda-ish from the back, so what. The old EVO's aren't exactly winning 'pleasing to the eye' awards, nor were the old Skylines – boxy as hell, and we all remember the Subaru's with those hideous 'Toyota Corolla' headlamps before they changed them.
If it's looks have been upgraded to something your wife won't be embarrassed to sit in then I call that an evolution indeed. They've mastered what's underneath, let them tinker with the top bit. And for all the moaning going on here, how many would stand by your comments and turn down a test drive, or a quick blast in a mates 'X' ???

There's a video of it here:

I really like it. A great visual improvement over the last model. I only wish they'd do like Subaru with the WRX and release a toned down version (say, 210 hp) minus the boy racer wing and with a slightly more subtle front end treatment and maybe 16" wheels. Add a nice interior (leather seats, metallic trim accents) and I'd be all over it. I'm sure there are a lot of people like me who'd like a good handing, civilized economy car with a bit of guts, but don't want a 300HP fire breather that gets disappointing gas mileage. I'll take mine in gunmetal gray, thank you.
