This article has some holes in it.

Infiniti is Nissan’s equivalent to Toyota’s Lexus in Japan

I believed that neither Lexus or Inifinty were brands used in Japan. If anything, Infinity is Nissan's Lexus in the US market primarily.

The next GTR is not a Skyline.

Here in north america Infiniti has been Nissan's luxury brand, started about the same time Lexus did. The brand was in dire straights (Nissan too) with mediocre cars on too many platforms (Nissan/Infiniti in general). Since Carlos was hired he's turned around both companies and Infiniti has become are reinvigorated brand pushing strongly I would say at BMW in general with performance and style at bargain prices. When the G35 (Skyline series in Japan) came out about 2003 it was the first car to really challenge the 3 series, at that time stock hp on the sedan was 260 and 280 or so on the coupe which absolutely blew away any 3 series (save the M3) at the time, keep in mind a g35 coupe considerably undercut a comparable 3er in price. Car fanatics and press alike have generally held the coupe in high regards with dynamics and especially looks so the G37 has lots to live up to.
This new G37 is an updated FM platform from Nissan which is 36% stiffer (it was already very stiff) and looks to have a much improved interior (the previous generation left lots to be desired) and although 330hp is estimated that is under the new standard of hp testing so it's probably more of a difference, expect 1/4 mile times in the low 13's stock, at least 13.5 I would think. 07 350z's with the new 3.5 (306hp) are running low 13's already, but the G37 will be a bit heavier, this motor in the Z could get high 12's.
Anyway both the Z and G37 are relative bargains in our market and have been huge tuner favorites, just about every kid has one. I think once they hit your roads you guys are all going to really really like them, in 2003 there was such a high demand you had to wait 6 months to get one. I wouldn't be surprised if it kept up or beat a current E46 M3. Learn more about the G35 at www.g35driver.com

Cheers mates!

forgot to mention both Lexus and Infiniti are launching plans to open up in Japan and Europe, Lexus I hear with much more of a bigger assault though, of course Lexus makes boring cars.

Lexus launched 2 years ago in Japan. Infinity is just Nissan brand in the US. As they like junky names.
