Mk1 MR2 - any good?

One of my mates had a Mk1 MR2 - best little thing in the world. He did stick a pretty dodgy big rear wing on the back though... He drove it hard, and didn't have any serious problems. Replaced it with a mk2 Turbo, and to be honest I prefer the Mk1!
