Thought they might have got round to fitting a front mounted intercooler by now.
If I met the designer I would give him a good slap and say "oi, designer bloke, NO!"
I heard the guy Subaru credited for the design is denying its his work! If I met the designer I would give him a good slap and say "oi, designer bloke, NO!"
Personally I cant say it really looks that ugly, because to doesnt really look ANYTHING! Its that bland!

For the US market I bet it will have a Saab front. Lets Guess 9-1 0r 9-2?
Nope, no chance of that happening since GM sold their interest in FHI. Shame, as after the Botox-job Scooby 9-2X would've come a proper joint development based on the next gen Impreza platform, while any smaller Saab models now will have to sit on grubby bits from an Opel/Vauxhall Astra...It looks like the ugly love child of a Corolla and a Mazda 3

foot an shoot spring to mind, Subaru have no hope with this one, were's the market?.
The Impreza name will conjure up all the wrong associations for those wanting a sensible car, an the car itself will conjure up all the wrong impressions for someone who wants what the impreza stood for.

I think the reason for the hatch was to have a shorter wheel base version for rallying.
Whats wrong with a top mount intercooler?
Airflow through the scoop above 80mph dropped off dramatically in the old one. They may have fixed it now I hope so.Whats wrong with a top mount intercooler?
Also I'm guessing the top mount is a better place to put it in the event of a front end bump - the car would have more chance of getting to the next service area if it's not leaking boost.
You are completely right
