LOL! I was thinking that in certain angles it looks like a cross between a Citroen C4 and the new Civic!

What a hideous looking motor!

For the US market I bet it will have a Saab front. Lets Guess 9-1 0r 9-2?

Thought they might have got round to fitting a front mounted intercooler by now.

If I met the designer I would give him a good slap and say "oi, designer bloke, NO!"
I heard the guy Subaru credited for the design is denying its his work!

Personally I cant say it really looks that ugly, because to doesnt really look ANYTHING! Its that bland! sleep

Nope, no chance of that happening since GM sold their interest in FHI. Shame, as after the Botox-job Scooby 9-2X would've come a proper joint development based on the next gen Impreza platform, while any smaller Saab models now will have to sit on grubby bits from an Opel/Vauxhall Astra...

Looks like a Honda Civic stroke Ford Focus but not as good as either. What a completely dull and instantly fogettable shape. It doesn't stand a chance aganist the radical new Evo X.

its growing on me but i still think its a mistake stopping making the saloon but dropping the wrx from the line up in the uk seems like an even bigger mistake.

foot an shoot spring to mind, Subaru have no hope with this one, were's the market?.

The Impreza name will conjure up all the wrong associations for those wanting a sensible car, an the car itself will conjure up all the wrong impressions for someone who wants what the impreza stood for.

I think the reason for the hatch was to have a shorter wheel base version for rallying.

Whats wrong with a top mount intercooler?
Airflow through the scoop above 80mph dropped off dramatically in the old one. They may have fixed it now I hope so.
I guess it's a compromise. Rally cars don't have much use for a high top speed, it's all about acceleration and mid range.

Also I'm guessing the top mount is a better place to put it in the event of a front end bump - the car would have more chance of getting to the next service area if it's not leaking boost.
The rally car uses a front mounted intercooler. The scoop on the WRC car has no cooling function, I think they use it to feed the airfilter.

I think we're all pretty bored of this bag of sh*t. Subaru have taken a huge step backwards and, to be honest, I couldn't give a damn that we won't get the opportunity to buy one. It wouldn't sell anyway. Unless you're a granny-racer. Shite.

...has anyone seen the review of the new EVO? The test driver pretty much said, for £35K, you cant get a better performing car anywhere... 0-62 in under 5 s and corners on rails... I'll certainly be looking at that when I replace the CG-Lock scooby!!
