I am posting on behalf of a freind who is having probs with his jap import 'K' reg WRX.

The car is stalling when he comes to a stop at junctions/traffic lights or when coming off the accelerator suddenly. it is a well serviced car and runs well normally.

It is does not appear to be an alternator issue, as the car starts up with no problem at all, so the battery is getting a strong charge.

He also has a restrictor problem at the moment, so the car is refusing to go above 80mph or 4000rpm, but he believes these two problems to be completely seperate issues.

It would be great if someone could maybe give us some suggestions as to where to start looking, he has the car booked in to have the engine restriction fixed, do you guys think the two things may be part of the same problem?
Or does anyone know of any well known issues like this with these cars?

Possible MAF sensor or O2 sensor.

Have a look over on Scoobynet in the technical forums. (Mind your step, there's an awful lot of sh*t over there )
