Depends how you use them.
Drilled/vented/grooved disks allow longer periods of abuse as the disk can get rid of heat more quickly, so they won't fade. Grooves also help clear water in extreme conditions.
Most cars are vented, grooved and drilled are for hardcore stuff or really heavy cars really.
