BMW 1M 4.0 V8 M3 Powered
Discussion
Hi sorry for the late reply ive been abit busy and then ive been away for a week. I wish i could have kept it at the same price of the diesel however it would be illegal as i wouldn't be paying the right tax, so it been changed by DVLA to the right engine and chassis as its been autoligned tested and had a engineer report

A genuine 1M sits at around £35k and with around £1500 thrown at it can produce around 450bhp with a lighter engine, more torquey engine and in a more reliable package.
Lighter, more torque etc. etc.Numbers never tell the whole story. I don't have experience with those exact 2 engines but I have no doubt the S65 is the better engine.

Awesome!
How does the M3 engine compare to the N54 for weight?
Just 7kg heavier, but given it's 2 cyls shorter, the c of g might be a little bit further back behind the front axle line so probably negliable difference between the two engines as far as chassis balance is concerned. How does the M3 engine compare to the N54 for weight?

For your next mission, should you wish to undertake it, it to fit the S85 V10 with a Manual Six speed box..... to a 1er.
Been done already http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNKShdntSnU
(just not with a manual 'box, but then, why would you? That's like saying you want to fit carbs to the V10 as well )
