BMW Xenon lights & Warranty
Discussion
Hi Guys,
Picked up my 3 series up last week (325d convertible) from BMW Cooper Croyden, not my local dealer but had to travel 150 miles to get the spec.
Its 2011, £19k on clock, and obviously comes with AUC warranty for 12 months.
I've noticed condensation in my headlights, I know you can get the odd bit of mist, but this looks like tiny water droplets. (pic attached)
I've read the warranty and this should be covered as not an exclusion.
Could it be a blocked drainage hole?
I've only had the car a week, and i'm off to my local BMW Benham in Wolverhampton on Saturday, and want to be fully armed as am not prepared to be fobbed off!
Any thoughts and feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks
Matt

I know, but I wont be travelling 300 miles round trip to get the headlight done from the supplying dealer.
The work would still need to be carried out by a by a local dealer & then invoice Cooper Croyden.
I'd be contacting Cooper Croyden before having anything whatsoever done to the car.The work would still need to be carried out by a by a local dealer & then invoice Cooper Croyden.
Unless you get their agreement first to have the work carried out elsewhere and bill them, they could refuse to pay out as you did not give them (the supplying dealer), any opportunity to fix the car.
Part of the problem is that different BMW Dealerships belong to different franchise groups and so they don't automatically cover each others (AUC) cars.
Got the same problem on the Xenons on my 2007 E65 730d. Took it into Cooper Chelmsford who confirmed the problem (it only happens in damp conditions), they confirmed it's covered by the AUC Warranty and agreed we'd book it in after Xmas to get it done. No problems or arguments whatsoever. NB. bought the car from another BMW group altogether though where I'd got it never figured in the conversation.
